Who cares? If Kawhi came back playing Wilson Chandler and the Spurs could have got a king's ransom for him, he'd be traded. So in the grand scheme teams can move a player when its not working for them, but players cant force themselves out when its not working for them..

Im all for players exercising their power even if its to the detriment of the team I root for..
He could have exercised his power by playing out the contract he willingly signed and left respectfully to LA next summer.

Can he make it up later in his career? Probably. However, everyone was pointing to IT when Kawhi sat out in the first place. Look at what happened to Boogie due to injury. And Kawhi's career has been filled with random ass injuries as well. He's not Bron.

Bruh as soon as he touches down as a free agent, the Lakers are going to be waiting for him with a max. As soon as he signs it, he'll have an endorsement set up with Jordan. That 30 million will be made up quick. So all he has to do is avoid injury THIS season and everything's a go...

And things have been "bungled." The minute midnight hit yesterday, a supermax offer should have been on the table for him to sign. Who in their right mind would have ever thought Kawhi would not even have the option to choose to sign the supermax?

He doesnt want to be in SA even with the supermax. So nothing has been bungled, and as long as he makes it thru next season no money has been lost.

This talk of sitting out the season still cracks me up. As I mentioned pages ago:

  • Kawhi sits out, the year left on the contract still remains.
  • The only way he rides this out is by claiming injury
  • However, if he claims injury for the first half of the season, gets traded and magically passes the physical, the Spurs can sue the hell out of him, his agency and/or his doctors.
  • Spurs are already calling his bluff. If RC can convince Toronto to do the same, Spurs are golden.

:dead: Kawhi’s camp is doing everything to kill his trade value. At this point, I think he’s gonna be traded for probably DeRozan and a pick or just Saric and Covington if it’s the Sixers in late August

Man fukking nick wright is so fukking annoying.

“The path to los angeles is shortening up!!”

bytch shut the fukk up, we not focused on a kawhi trade, why would we give up ANY of our young assets?

These aint trade-bait, this aint clarkson and randle, and nance, and dangelo.

These are going to be bonafide all-stars at some point in their career.

fukk a paul george, dude is a beta. Kawhi sees what golden state did. Hes coming too

Nah fukk that he needs to force his way outta there now

If he tryna force his way out then why is he only choosing 1 city? You can't demand a trade but then proceed to call 28 other organizations and say im not tryna play there :mjlol:

What kind of shyt is this. This nikka really trying force his way to LA :dahell:

Ive been asking this. Why is tryna go to la so badly when he still got a year left? You asked to be traded but arent willing to be traded lol

But teams dont have to let players "play out their contract" and allow them to leave "respectfully"?

Again, Im all for players exercising their power. You want the teams to be able to control the player's careers, but not the players themselves :coffee:

Hard to feel sorry for players when their contract is guaranteed. I'm sure Blake ain't happy he re-upped and got dealt to Detroit, but that bank is guaranteed, so he can afford taking a jet every weekend to LA.

If Kawhi was in the NFL, he DEFINITELY would be seen in a better light right now.

That’s not controlling your career.
That’s dishonoring your agreed upon contract.

Nobody is asking for your pity.. The point is teams can jettison a player out of there when its not working for them. But when its not working for the player, and they try to force their way out, you have a problem... Im good with both sides acting in their best interest, not just one or the other...

If Kawhi was in the NFL, he DEFINITELY would be seen in a better light right now.

Its a business breh. Everyone should always seek to maneuver things to benefit them whether in the NBA or NFL... :coffee:

That’s why playing him is the best option for the Spurs
