Picks aren't really as great as people make them out to be. I think gathering picks is a bad way for a team to justify their shytty/cheap decisions. OKC fans should be giving those owners hell for them having KD, Russ, Harden, and PG to end up with no championship and them currently dodging the luxury tax.

Outside of Harden what shytty/cheap decisions have they made? They have been over the salary cap since 2010/11 & paying the luxury tax since 2014/15 outside of the 1 year they ducked it when KD left. Their also not currently dodging the luxury tax & weren't going to be without this shyt blowing up because right now the bill would be just under $25m without even factoring in their rookie. The best they could do is lower it by moving guys like Patterson.

They have had injuries to key guys damn near every year since 2013 & had some shyt luck with random things that they had no control over like the NBA applying the Rose rule to KD after he had already signed his rookie extension (they later paid the Thunder the difference back after it had already helped cost them Harden) & the cap spike in 2016.

PG 1 year into a 4 year max contract requesting a trade home to LA to play with a guy who just won a title & still decided to leave instead of running it back even for a year is their signal to just start tearing it down, instead of trying to rebuild a second time around a 30 year old Russy. Ain't like the Thunder are going to be in the mix for free agents like that so getting a fukk ton of picks is the best way to go about it.

Didn't West burn out and fall out with Dr. Buss/leave the org in the '70s pre-Paul Westhead? I think, if I have my knowledge correct, that West burned out on the job and left with a bit of acrimony before, but came back. In fact, I think that he did that a couple of times. That's just how Jerry West operates.

But you always bring him back into the fold. It seems like Jeannie is more into hiring yes-men than hiring people like West, who was known for telling Dr. Buss what the plan should be and how he wanted to do things no matter what Jerry thought.
