Better finisher too. We only have the data for 1996-97 and 97-98, but MJ shot 53% and 62% at the rim his last 2 years with the bulls. Leonard is consistently over 70% in recent years. Shame the league didn’t track that sort of thing until that recently. Would’ve been nice to have given that so few people valued the 3 back then :martin:
he should be, especially with all the spacing on the floor. what would kawhi FG% be at the rim with clogged lanes

The only clear advantage Jordan had over Kawhi was play making. Like I said peak Kawhi could match up with anyone.

He’s got a degenerative health issue so honestly the fact that he was able to carve out a HoF career and win rings for 2 different franchises as someone who came in as a role player is a feat in itself :manny:

Will be a long time before we see something like that Toronto run

You gotta relax.

Jordan was a better dribbler, finisher around the rim, more explosive athlete and creating his own shot.

Kawhi has him on three point shooting, but that’s it.

He’s a more realized Penny Hardaway as far as “what could have been” derailed by injuries.

Peak Kawhi obliterated Butler/Embiid/Simmons (35/10/5), then packed up a 60-win Bucks team with mvp Giannis/Middleton/Brogdon (30/10/5) in back-to-back series.

Gave Luka 45pt in game 6 and followed up with a nigh 30pt triple dub in game 7 to pack up the Mavs. The same Mavs that made the WCFs the next year.

Even with the Spurs, he was runner up in MVP voting in 2016, and 3rd place votes in 2017, packing up the Zbo/Gasol/Conley grit n grind Grizzlies in 6 games (31/6/4).

It just stinks that in their last 3 playoff matchups (2017, 2019, 2023) KD or Kawhi ended up getting hurt before we could see who would best the other.

I don’t think Jordan was a better dribbler, his handles were actually pretty basic (more so a product of his era than an indictment on him) but his ability to stop on a dime is what made his bythenumbers crossover and behind the back dribble so effective. However, he had much more elevation and agility than Kawhi. Same with Kobe.

KL may actually be the most technically skilled Jordan clone (or right behind Kobe) as far as footwork, handles, post game nuances, etc., and perhaps the best pure shooter of them, but his Achilles heel is he’s only an above average/ “good” athlete. Not otherworldly. So it’s not the same flare as Mike, Kobe, or even Ant Edwards attacking the rim or fading away over defenders.

Kawhi and Kyrie are the 2 most prolific offensive players in their draft and really of their generation and yet you look up and..

Kyrie only has 16k points
Kawhi has 13k points

Like these nikkas are in year 13.

You had dudes like MJ, Bron, AI and Luka who were already at 10k points by their 5th year.

Luka will probably pass Kawhi up by next season…and he’s almost a decade behind Kawhi.

Health is wealth. Kawahi has accomplished more in limited minutes than pretty much any NBA player ever though. It's like yall brains are conditioned to criticize any and everything. Just show appreciation instead.

Best ability is availability. Good player but never should be any goat convos, even talking about peak, so I dunno any of that was brought up here. That's a low amount of points no matter how you look at it with how long he's been in the league.
