Couple things, both Randle and DV wanted out. And Kat was hype on coming to NY a couple seasons back, supposedly. MN didn't want to pay him, and they're nowhere close to figuring out their budgetary bullsh*t.
So the deal makes sense, but NYK front office still operates in crisis prevention more than they do in investing in the future. It's been clear for damn near 25 years that they don’t know how to manage rosters and pick up prospects. They overpay bums and under-appreciate hard workers and actual talent. With all that said, Dolan and the idiots running the team understand the seats will sell, so they don’t really care about anything else. It's New York. No matter how much the team sucks, there's wild money to be made.
Randle's absence will be felt. And DV was the best shooter on the team. So I don’t know what to expect, but the team as constructed is looking a little shaky at best, and I like KAT! But we'll see what happens.
