Karl Towns all day.
Okafor is extremely passive defensively, for a 6'11 center he's a terrible rim protector
Karl Towns can pretty much do it all and has a much higher ceiling
My Knicks need him
If the Knicks got the top pick they're taking Okafor, that is the type of player Phil likes.
What is Towns' ceiling and should the Lakers trade the #1 pick for Cousins if the opportunity presents itself? I know @Malta is against this. I haven't seen a lot of Towns.
I don't want Okafor if he's a bad rim protector because Randle isn't gonna hold down the fort either.
Not if we don't have the 1st pick.If the Knicks got the top pick they're taking Okafor, that is the type of player Phil likes.
Does Towns shy away from contact? Even if he's not a true center, with the way the league is shifting, it'd make me think Towns and Randle could work in the front court. He's already blocking twice as many shots as Okafor. I'd much rather have the guy who's already committed defensively than a giant question mark at that end of the floor.Town's ceiling is LaMarcus Aldridge with better defense, I don't necessarily think he's a center, so I think the Lakers would go with Okafor or Russell with the top pick.
I also wouldn't trade Okafor for Boogie, I can see Okafor being Boogie/Al Jefferson type, but if he got committed to working on his body his defense could improve. He's got length on his side, he's just not athletic because he's lugging around 280lbs, Towns was kind of pudgy & doughy looking last year but he clearly put in work in the weight room to drop the fat and is athletic as shyt as a result. The same thing could happen to Okafor, if he were committed.
