Kanye West makes white music for people who don't wanna listen to white music.

i used to love chris rock but as i got wiser, he is probably one of the most "hateful of other black people" personalities i have ever come across. i used to laugh at that shyt as a youngin but now it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. and its not like we are not allowed to make fun of eachother, but for some reason, his shyt is always more spiteful. you listen to robin harris and he also has the hard on black people shyt but it was always funny, never mean spirited. chris rock shyt, mean spirited as hell, and full of venom.

Did you read his comments on race in 2014 after Ferguson?

Rock is that dude and this thread is useless

:kattpimp: OP is a Liar!

    1. New Slaves
      Kanye West

    1. Lyrics
My momma was raised in the era when
Clean water was only served to the fairer skin
Doing clothes you would have thought I had help
But they wasn't satisfied unless I picked the cotton myself
You see it's broke nikka racism
That's that "Don't touch anything in the store"
      And this rich nikka racism
That's that "Come in, please buy more
What you want, a Bentley? Fur coat? A diamond chain?
All you blacks want all the same things"
Used to only be nikkas now everybody playing
      Spending everything on Alexander Wang
      New Slaves

How can anyone who listened to this (and the rest of the Yeezus masterpiece that dropped in 2013 say this...) I didn't understand some of his evolution as an artist initially (Good Music compilation singles had me :jbhmm: ) but as I've been able to sit back and digest/reflect his music he's easily one of the most creative-thought provoking artists in the game and we should be thankful to have a mainstream hip hop creative like Kanye West.

I'm proud to admit I had it wrong. He's pushing the envelope now more than he ever did in 03-05.

Say sampling curtis mayfield and marvin gaye is "Cac friendly" brehs.

His whole steeze on College Dropout, Late Registration, even Graduation is paying respects
to musicians he respects a great deal from Ray Charles to Michael Jackson to Marvin Gaye.

If anything his earlier music is a direct call back to 1960's/1970's/1980's Black America but this changed with 808's and Heartbreak and the album that came after that.

He (or someone on his team :yeshrug: ) started sampling from rock, using production styles
from EDM etc. and added it into his Hip Hop. The soul and jazz samples left, the orchestra left, the bounce and swing he was known for started disappear in favor of something else.
This coincides with about the time his ego started to run out of control and he was looking for a private pornstar to marry (Amber Rose, Kim K etc.)

I'm talking about lyrical content

:snoop:

To bad this isn't accurate and they've been fans just like we have since day 1

How many Yeezy concerts have you been to breh?

We're getting racist now

Who's "we"? I'm not black

Maybe not your narrow definition of what hip hop can be.
....or maybe you have an overly-broad definition of what hip-hop can be? :yeshrug:

I'm not picking sides here, just sayin....why couldn't the opposite be equally as true?

:laff:

Nothing existed like CD content wise when it dropped and it pretty much created a whole new lane for many succeeding rappers & helped shift the genre.

Yeezus on the other hand was just Kanye riding the euro-rap techno wave with a handful of ghost written pro black songs to balance out the swag raps that made up most of the album

Kanye is generic as fukk these days. 'All Day nikka' pushing the envelope? fukk outta here :russ:Travis Scott is more of a unique artist than Kanye RN, I'm dead serious. Kanye used to set trends, now he just rides them.
