Kanye (through mostly his own devices) feels like he has been erased from the discussions

Kanye also dropped the ball by not dropping Yhandi instead of going the religious route(think he did that to get the public on his side again)

City of Angels :blessed:
Donda was a HUGE album - that listening party he had in Mercedes Benz stadium was massive, and that was after a lot of the MAGA and divorce drama.. ppl still overlooked it. Even after the nazi stuff, Vultures went #1 and had a number 1 single.

I truly don't think people really care about his personal life like that if the music is good. Problem is it hasn't been that good lately, and I think what really screwed him more than anything was not releasing Donda 2. It was a lot of hype for that album and the whole Stem player bullshyt absolutely killed the vibe. The listening parties he hosted for it were huge, but it was impossible to figure out how to actually stream that album. I feel like people tuned him out after that.

Actually, you're right.

Donda was major. Hell, it went number 1 in more countries than CLB. That whole era in 2021 with the listening parties, the competition with Drake, the Drink Champs interview, and Larry Hoover concert was a good era.

But it quickly got overshadowed by the 2022 fukkery like the Pete Davidson beef, the White Lives Matter/Nazi shyt, and other shenanigans.

I feel, if Donda had a proper tour attached to it, that era would be remembered more fondly. I think the fact that the comeback he had from 2021 got swallowed up by 2022 fukkery and antics made people overlook that era in hindsight.

With a tour, however, people would remember the Donda era more cause that's lowkey why the TLOP era is still remembered pretty fondly besides nostalgia.

Nah. Donda 2 is mainly :trash: :trash: .

It had some joints on it. I liked the song with Game and Happy with Future. I also thought City Of Gods are a dope radio single.

But most of the rest of the album is totally disposable and full of unfinished demo tracks. And we already saw how dropping unfinished music hurt Kanye this August.

Honestly, the whole Vultures stuff would've been better if he just combined the best tracks for one collab album with Ty. Or if he stuck with the OG plan of producing a whole album for Ty with maybe a feature or 2. The whole vibe of those albums suit Ty Dolla Sign but shows an artistic regression for Kanye.

The version of Kanye that could kinda rock with was the producer version from 2001-04 and the rapper version on the College Dropout after that, me personally, I've never gotten the hype. Just mostly a bunch of over-produced techno sounding nonsense. And ugly sneakers and clothes .
