I'm actually interested in what a presidency run will look like if he stays true to his word. I'm never going to hate on the creativity and boldness of Ye, I just hope he gets the help he needs mentally. It would be said for another talented brother to get too lost in this ish

But Daft Punk made a name for themselves sampling black artists and imitating the styles of black chicago and detroit house and techno djs so i guess its a reciprocal loop. They never made "white music".

So did Led Zepelin and guys like Eric Clapton (imitating black music) but no one says they make exclusively black music. Sure Daft Punk was influenced by house but its not like house was exclusively a black sound/movement. There were a lot of white house DJs that helped blow it up. When I think of black music that only black people can get, I think of deep soul...Blues...songs that don't resonate with a group of people who generally speaking "have it all" Daft Punk earned their chops making techno with a house tint but it's never been a strictly house sound with their music IMO.

Kanye West himself has said he doesn't make music just for black people and his music isn't just black music. You can't sample like he can and not be familiar with all the people he sampled. Outside of the The Doors all his rock and folk samples have been obscure bands that only a die hard music fan would have any interaction with their music.

I mean havent we been saying the same thing forever here? I dunno when the shift happened that stuff like pitchfork became an authority on hip hop but I dont like it either way. Its just funny cause these hipster sites made stuff like Yeezus acceptable and critically acclaimed in the first place :russ:
