What I'm saying is that this isn't an outrageous or odd conclusion to reach, people have no control over how they're treated but they do have control over who they decide to procreate with.

If there are two sides to a coin, on one, having a lighter skinned offspring who might be treated better you as a dark skinned person is treated and the other side of that coin is maintaining racial purity and fighting for the end of the mistreatment, many people would choose and have chosen the route that's the "safer bet"
