:what: kanye done lost his fukkin mind

I cant speak for the rest of the country but not a single person around here is or has worn jordans because of kanye, and im just now hearin about this... we really gonna let him try and rewrite history on this :usure:

we gone act like mafukkas aint been lining up at 4 am in the morning outside footlocker before kanye was popular :usure:

RAPPERS PERIOD have NOTHING to do with Jordans being popular

JORDAN has EVERYTHING to do with JORDANS being popular

man this man kanye been comparing him self to people like steve jobs and taking credit for everything popular lately :what:
i'd argue that to the YOUNGER generation that never saw him play unlike us older cats.. rappers have EVERYTHING to do with jordans popularity. thats how nike markets..no more commercials or ads..they send the newest shoe to rappers and they post it on instagram.. word to wale, ross, fabulous, bow wow, budden etc. even had wayne shouting out "space jam jordans" on a huge song a few years back

nike knows this which is EXACTLY why they signed DRAKE this week.

Raffles have nothing to do with social networking

Raffles have everything to do with the violence that happens at releases

:merchant: people are really arguing this.

Jordans have always, always, always, always been a fashion staple in the hood. So.......when I had the black cements in 10th grade, I was doing it because of Kanye. Even though he was barely famous.

breh you're overstating things..throwbacks were like 10 years ago. barkleys just started retroing this past 3 years..hell REEBOK just started retroing their own shyt within this past year. kanye was doing this in the mid 00s.

starting 08 or so we got hypebeast shyt like "dress like kanye west" and blogs reporting stuff like this http://www.kicksonfire.com/2009/01/13/celebrity-kicks-kanyes-favorite-pair-air-jordan-8-aqua/#page-1

Wha??? Barkleys were retro'd way before 3 years ago. Kanye didn't do shyt with sneakers. He popularized fruity colored shirts among the folk who were rocking jerseys. But even that shyt wasn't original. He just took hypebeast shyt and folk latched on to it. I been on Niketalk since 2000 so I saw the whole shyt unfold.

And why is there violence? Because supply is not meeting demand. Where is this demand coming from? I just quit sneaks a few months ago. I was the oldest mother fukker at the store. These young kids never saw mj play like us. Not even as a wizard. Who you think they saw with these shoes? This is a rap board. We would all be lyingg if we say a rapper didnt influence us at one point. All im saying

Basically. Retro J's only took off cuz the retro fad popped off and everyone wanted old school shyt at that time. Shellotes, stan smiths, adidas jumpsuits, vintage shyt
