Kanye really been in a bubble the past few years;he's rehashing old, racist, all lives matter rhetoric and trying to pass it off as "new ideas" and "original thought", and acting like most social commentary hasn't heavily revolved around these ideas the past few years. His "thoughts" have already been proven to be toxic and hateful, and misinformed ,and that's part of what makes this all so frustrating. Kanye's opinions have no logical backing, breh is incredibly ignorant of anything relevant to society, and he has incredible influence over millions of kids and adults who would literally eat his shyt on command. He's helping to cultivate a new generation of bigots, and all he has to do is pick up a couple of books and read up on why he sounds so dumb right now. I think part of the issue too is that Kanye is seeking to validate the genius label he got stuck with, and he's playing the contrarian is a vain attempt at proving he's a "genius" imo. I don't think he wants his ideas challenged, he just wants stomp his feet, say he's right like a kid throwing a temper tantrum, and say he's "misunderstood" because it fits the tortured genius motif.
