That proposal will never go anywhere considering DEI being thrown out and the federal government recently lost in several lawsuits when they tried targeting specific demographics for some of their programs. Justice reform and changing laws regarding family court would be more doable and realistic.

I knew it would happen, and fact of the matter is these policies will likely be blocked by the courts. In our current climate where not gonna get anything positive based on race passed. We're in a tug of war with other groups in this country for our rights and it's important to always be cognizant of that. The things we're trying to leverage for, are being leveraged against, so it's not enough to just make demands; we have to spread awareness, educate and garner influence on a local and state level too. In the mean time, class based initiatives might be the best any group in this country will be able to muster.

Democrats have literally had decades to put forth meaningful policies. The fact that the political climate has changed doesn't absolve them for decades of benign neglect.

They had plenty of chances but blew it. Whether its warranted or not lots of voters feel they care about migrants and foreigners than American citizens. It's not easy to shake that kind of reputation once you get it.
