I can't speak on Memphis but I keep telling nikkas this

Rap is still regional to a certain extent and it's not ignorance at all.. Not every rap fan is a head and they don't give a fukk about what you deem as classic

How many of you nikkas up top ever heard this album?

Confident she would recognize Jesus Walks or Through The Wire or Golddigger or She Said She Want Some Marvin Gaye or Power or Stronger. These songs were inescapable. I was a big fan (of the first 2 albums...3rd was still good but not on that level IMO) and outside then and I dont know what that song sounds like (no clicks :manny:). She was a kid and her mama named her Glory Hallelujah...so it aint beyond the realm of possibility that she never heard it.

What’s good folks? I forgot you was on this joint

I was in clarksdale tunica Greenville and Moorhead and this was not happening especially not at any games at that time

Especially not in the delta

Waka, Ross was getting a lot of burn though

I remember vividly cause I was in nursing school at Coahoma but lived in Greenville at the time and my brother was moving packs to southhaven right outside Memphis

I’m saying it’s believable that a 10 yr old girl in the hood didn’t hear it
Sure it’s possible but I’m saying that has less to do with where she’s from and more to do with who she’s around.

Prime example, I didn’t hear any Kevin gates. Man live just down from my momma nem now, but I wasn’t around it. Yet I know for a fact they was blasting that man heavy. I knew who he was but the circles I was in made it easy to avoid that for me. Everybody circle different. You surely had several boys out there on the track bumping ye, but if it ain’t your thing, even if you hear it, you wouldn’t pay attention to it.

This is true though.

Idk how you escaped Gates. I wish I did. His fanbase is wild diverse lol them white boys love him

Nikkas gotta stop with this topic. I hate the term fake outrage but this definitely qualifies

There are regions strong enough where nikkas listen to the music of that region more than than whatever is going on in the mainstream. Nikkas in Memphis got MORE than enough Memphis rap to last them a lifetime

Does that mean no one in Memphis was listening to Kanye? No but y'all know wtf she talking about stop being so pedantic:mjlol:

I can tell you nikkas wasn't listening to Kanye in Birmingham, and I know because nikkas would :dahell: when they'd catch me listening to him:mjlol:

Nikkas play dumb about regions and hoods because they can't wait to talk shyt about somebody and feel tastefully superior m that shyt corny as hell:mjlol:

This.

Most people who wear shirts of artist don’t know the music breh lol
That's besides the point I'm making. That's why I said certain artists stand the test of time and become rite of passage names

If you're talking about some shyt like The Fall I'd understand, but if you're a 20 year old getting into metal you're going to find out about black sabbath breh. If you're growing your hair out, skipping showers and becoming a punk kid you're going to hear The Ramones

I gave derailed examples for a reason y'all nikkas don't read shyt:mjlol:
