I don't agree, but she has a point. MBDTF was huge, but that was his least selling album at that point. Yes, its gotten certifications since then, but that album definitely wasn't what Graduation was. None of the singles or even the songs hot like "Can't Tell Me Nothin" or "Good Life" or even an album cut like "Barry Bonds". "Runaway" wasn't that huge nor were any of the other singles. When Kanye dropped MBDTF, it was in the middle of the Drake and Nicki Minaj run. Rick Ross was peak Ross.

The bolded.

The sht was a big deal at the time and probably how most of us know the song.
The vma performance.
A young person definitely had to have seen that sht

A lot of them weren't watching MTV especially the awards show.

Glo-Rilla was probably busy listening to new Nicki Minaj, Drake, and Rick Ross late 2010.

The album was bigger criticallybthan commercially. It had a lot of hype as a masterpiece when it dropped, but the singles werent as big as the first few albums.

All of the Lights was a real hit though. Monster had buzz off the Nicki verse too. Power's been used in commercials/trailers since but wasn't a big radio hit in real time.

Got posters in here feeling like I did a few years ago when people were like “who?” Whenever I brought up Outkast :russ: Nah man you slight getting :flabbynsick: out here, embrace it. I’ve always hated the “that was before my time” people but now it’s your turn to get it Kanye fans. I dont know how a ten year old would be too young to know about a song but apparently that was a thing. I mean I was feeling music when I was 5 and 6 years old… maybe I’m different :yeshrug:

As far as the south wasn’t bumping Kanye or whatever thing. Different folks were doing different things. Can’t say the whole south wasn’t bumping certain shyt.

Kai was on the internet

Glo was outside

Glo is more of the culture than Kai is if you want to keep it a buck. I bet you a rack she can knows all classic soul, R&b, and blues though. Rather you feel she’s ignorant not knowing Kanye’s runaway of all songs is your opinion though lol

What’s with people from the south acting like it’s a small closed country in the Caribbean or something :mjlol:

Acting like they didn’t have the same YouTube, Spotify, bet or mtv as everyone else. Or like it’s not about half of the US population.

Kanye sells out arenas all across the south, 100x faster than a yo gotti, project pat or anyone else from the south. But these boneheads will act like 8 Ball and mjg are like Taylor Swift in the south.

Fools need to stop talking for their whole region and just say “in my household”, “street”. Cause why the fukk would fool from Florida know what someone in Arkansas is listening to. :snoop:

With OutKast I get people not knowing who they are. They haven't released an album in nearly 20 years.

Because there's a huge disconnect that a lot of people are not getting. Him selling out arenas is fans. "Runaway" wasn't some song that was inescapable so there's a lot of people that wouldn't know that song.
