I admit there is a good chance that foles takes a step back this yeear and I can guarantee over 2 picks but he showed us that he can be a serviceable qb if not star qb in this system which is all we need. Also your leaving out a few things. One; foles did not start a game until week 6 last year, if he had been starting from the beginning then we would most likely be 12-4. Second our ENTIRE organization had to adjust to the way chip is running things. From what chip was able to show us last year it's hard not to get excited about this season knowing we will have a year of this system/nutrition/playbook under our belts. If our secondary improves I find it very hard to imagine losing the division
The keys to the Eagles having more success can be summed up in two words. "3rd downs"
The Eagles have to convert more 3rd downs and we have to GET THE HELL OFF THE FIELD ON 3rd downs. Last year, who was the slot or 3rd down safety valve, Jason Avant
HE STINKS. This year we will have either Sproles, Matthews or Ertz playing in the slot and by default we should have more success on 3rd down conversion offensively. Defensively..well...that will be more of a wing and a prayer. It depends how the linebacker battles shapes up. If Marcus Smith can produce and pick up the verbiage then you will see Demeco off the field on 3rd down and they will line up Coles, Smith, Barwin and Kendricks and pin their ears back! Dont b surprised if Billy Davis dials up safety blitzes on 3rd downs using Malcolm Jenkins, who was graded as the best safety in terms of sacking the QB in blitz situations ( I didnt know they graded that)
