That's because Foles deep pass is garbage and Chip has him slinging it up like he's Brett Favre in his prime. He's completed about 10% of his deep throws this year if I'm being generous and Chip calls at least 5-10 a game. Sometimes you need to adjust the system based on your personell instead of the other way around.....against SF it was just bad game planning period
it was garbage when he had desean

:sas2:

no lie the Foles overthrow to Cooper i thought to myself

Jackson would have ran that ball down

While this team mos def deserved to lose yesterday's game, actually having a chance at winning is what hurts with this loss. We could have snuck out of there and stole a win, kinda like we did in Indy :ahh:. But, like another poster mentioned above, we could also be 0-4 right now with the overall way they have been playing :scusthov:

Chip should have got Mac a try in redzone yesterday. Mac was the one that was putting in work that drive to get us to the RZ. Instead he went to slow ass Celek. Also if Foles would have stepped up he could have hit Celek. But instead go back & watch the play, Foles got shook & turned away threw the ball & prayed that Celek caught it. Basically tried to do what Eli Manning does. Also Shady gets some blame on that dude just completely whiffed on the blitz pick up. Also Coopers bytch ass dropped another TD. Dude is a one year wonder. :camby:

I know Foles was throwing the ball deep a lot yesterday. We dont know if that was Chip calling the deep ball. Or if Foles was only looking for the deep trying to get some chunk yards. Because honestly Foles this year seems to press a lot, like he feels he is the one that has to win the game. I want to wait for the All 22 to come out. Because if the deep ball was what the defense was giving him then i have no problem. But if he is going like Vick & just overlooking the underneath stuff to look for the homerun then i have a problem.

At least by nikka Lane is back. So hopefully the line will start to get a little more consistent in the run & much better is pass protection. :blessed:

Shady doing to much "east-west" running. He need to take them 2-3 yards when it's there and not try to "Barry" his way every time he touches the ball.
yes the offensive line is too bad right now to be trying to cut back. just take what you get. he is making his numbers even worse cutting back. you really think Dennis Kelly is taking care of business on the other side while you trying to cut back? just go north son

which is why Sproles has looked better running in this offense. because he isnt doing that cutting & dancing bullshyt. he knows its one cut & hit the hole. i love shady but i just hope he gets it going & he isnt already falling off. :mjcry:

If Rex Ryan gets fired by the Jets after this season. Chip would be smart to try & hire him as our DC. His defensive scheme is perfect for Chip & our offense.

Also Foles could of gave Cooper a chance to redeem his scrub ass. But instead Foles threw that shyt out of the back of endzone. Basically not given any of our WRs a chance to make a play. If Foles would have just put some air understead his pass, he could have gave Cooper a chance to go up & try to catch it. I mean what do we have to lose? It was 4th down anyways. :beli:

i guess i'll just state the obvious i don't think it's the o-line as much as it is Foles...there were plenty of times where he had no pressure and had terrible accuracy this was a problem in the beginning of most games....not sure if it's his accuracy or the fact that the WRs are getting jammed at the line and throwing off the timing....either way Foles needs to adjust and stop overthrowing everybody.....he also tries to lob everything he needs to learn how to throw a bullet like Vick (his arm is pretty strong)

Shady i dont know man ever since he went down and looked concussed he hasn't looked the same....looks slower and doesn't run with confidence ....

Defense isn't horribly in fact i think they did a pretty good job aside from that cross field Gore pass....I mean the offense was not doing anything even the best conditioned guys get tired after a while. Time of possion was like 5 minutes if that by 4th quarter it was all 3 and outs. The D held them as much as they could and even developed a pash rush...all this without kendricks in there.

Chip..really disappointed in that last goaline stance...that play calling was horrific...

Props to SF for beating us but even they know we shoulda' had that game.....

I am not sure that he can learn to throw deep bullets like Mike Vick or Drew Brees because that seems to be a God given talent and it is something he has never had the ability to do it. If he could do it, he would have definitely been a first round pick or second round pick and not a third rounder. Foles is a perfect west coast offense quarterback.

Foles or Chip should be reducing those deep throw plays. Also Desean Jackson is not there who has the speed to bail him out with the overthrows. Those lob overthrows will not work with the wide receivers he has and he or Chip has to adjust the plays to exploit Foles' strength as a passer (which I am sad to say is not the deep ball)

Check out the NFL combine Scouting Report on him
http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/nick-foles?id=2532842

Overview
Foles has been a productive signal caller for Arizona over three years as a starter and has the arm strength and size that garners first-day consideration for teams looking to fill a void at quarterback. He is a mechanically sound passer who has a solid release. In a different year, it's possible that Foles could be vying for the top quarterback spot; he is hit with hard luck by being in the middle of a quarterback-laden class. He is a big-time leader who rarely gets rattled. Foles' athletic ability will be a concern to some, and while he is projected as more of a "game manager" type, his skill set comes together nicely so he should be at least a serviceable starter at the next level. If teams can fall in love with his arm strength, he could be selected as early as the second round to develop and become an eventual starter.

Analysis
Strengths
Foles has a strong arm that gets him through various other hitches in his game. There are times when Foles throws the deep, cross-field out-route while on his back foot (and facing pressure) accurately and with ease. While not the most athletic quarterback, he is aware in the pocket to avoid pressure and has a good sense of how and when to extend a play to his advantage. As a deep passer he has strength but can struggle with accuracy at times. His accuracy is evident in his short to intermediate throws, where he can put it right on a receiver or lead him fluidly in stride. He would be more valuable in a West Coast scheme where could make quick decisions and not be forced to unleash deep throws on a consistent basis. He is an excellent game manager for moving the ball in bunches up the field. He is extremely poised in the pocket and rarely lets a heavy pass rush rattle his throws.

Weaknesses
Mobility has been the Achilles heel for Foles and will likely continue to be exposed even more at the next level. He is solely a pocket passer and hardly ever moves the chains with his feet. He has the ability to extend, but he is not going to out-run any defenders at the next level. This can sometimes effect his set-up, as it can be uncoordinated at times, although rarely affects his actual pass. There are times when the ball can get away from him when throwing deep, and he has struggled with accuracy there. His release is sufficient but not fast by any means. His judgment with the ball is somewhat questioned, as he can be slow to get rid of the ball and scramble into trouble.

That scouting report is him down to a tee :wow:

This year in each game so far, I am seeing at the very least least nine throws deep by Foles which is way too many for him. He did not throw nearly as much deep throws last year.
They are probably compensating with the deep balls because of the lack of a running game and opposing defenses stacking the box and playing zone in pass coverage.

Which makes me wonder if Chip and Shurmur are using the Tight Ends Like Ertz, Celek, Casey and Burton more to combat this (when defenses do this you exploit them up the middle in the pass game with the tight ends). If they are not I really think they need to employ the two tight end sets more with a single running back in the backfield if defenses are doing this but I digress
