It is an issue because some jobs won't let you wear afros,lots,etc. I've been told by a few people I can't get hired wear natural hair. My friend who is a manager at a store in the mall, so you know she knows. The military banned a bunch of black hairstyles.

Its not just the cornrows, Kylie wears blue & green hair wigs,weaves,etc and is praised when she does, a black women can't do that, I would be looked at as ghetto.
