jesus..now rachel mcadams is rumored to be in this season? :scusthov:

@hexagram23

I....am gonna wait until I shyt on it, still. But none of the info presented so far is confidence inspiring.

This season will make or break Nic Pizzolatto as a show runner. Not just the casting or directing but if anything is off about the writing it'll reignite the plagiarism accusations.

This season will not make or break Nic Pizzolatto. Nic is one of the hottest writers in Hollywood and is being pursued by every producer in the feature and TV game. Plus he has a two year overall deal with HBO. Even if season 2 is lukewarm (I think it'll be crack) Nick will be straight.

His TV resume is "TD", and "The Killing". Prior to that he wrote novels.

Dude is the golden child right now solely off the strength of the first season of "TD". If the sophomore season of "TD" falters it's safe to assume Hollywood will reassess his career.

No, they won't seeing that people like M. Night Shyamalan still get to direct movies too.

Terrible comparison. Shyamalan had $1 billion box office plus critical acclaim before he fell off.

Pizzolatto has 8 episodes of a TV show.

Anyway, that's not the point. M. Night movies do numbers for whatever reason but he's obviously not taken seriously as a talent. Right now, Nic Pizzolatto is the show runner to watch out for based on "TD". If you told him "you'll be fine, like M. Night Shyamalan" he'd probably kill himself.

As with the casting decisions I will withhold judgement until I see the finished product.

No offense breh but if you're making cable decisions in 2014 based on what shows you watch, you lost. Aside from sports there's basically zero reason to have cable. Everything is "obtainable".

Exactly. One huge hit in Hollywood gains you a lot of leeway. Plus, HBO is in business with their creators for the long haul. That's why it's so hard to get a series on HBO. Everyone wants to be there. Nic has bought himself a lot of longevity in Hollywood regardless how True Detective Season 2 turns out. And by the way, Nic has more then those two credits you named HEX. He's getting rewrite jobs and has projects in development.

This is Nic's slate.

Justin Lin might be famous for the F&F movies but one should not underestimate the man's directorial skills. He made Better Luck Tomorrow, an anarchistic masterpiece that's easily the best movie about young Asian-Americans, and it also happens to be one of my favorite movies of all time.

The movie was so good that Roger Ebert got his :anger: on at film festivals to stop people from trying to talk any shyt about it.

justin lin is dat dude idk wtf OP talkin bout.....even if u dont like the story of the F&F franchise u cant tell me the directing is the issue and better luck tomorrow is straight mtv movie piff :win:.....how come this show having different directors is such a big deal tho :dwillhuh: didnt breaking bad, walking dead, and countless other shows have different directors :what:

I just looked up this move & I'm downloading it now.
