I don't think anybody else in the league was going to pay JJ Watt 100 million dollars...
One team can't "set" the market value...you actually need a real market for that to happen...not just one team paying a guy before anyone else has the opportunity to pay him...
I'm not mad at Watt at all...they dumb enough to give him a contract that big he needs to be smart enough to take it

So why has he been on the feel for two of the biggest blowouts of the season?
Did Watt have nothing to do with that? Was he playing at an MVP level all game and it was just the other 10 guys who were playing poorly...
Watt is rapidly turning into an athlete who win the team does good...it's all watt all the time all the credit...
But when the team does bad...somehow it is every one fault but Watt...
Dude got shoved around like a child in that Atlanta game and racked up the few tackles he had against the Falcons second stream...
My 100 million dollar DE needs to not have to stat pad against backups to even show up on film...that is a problem for me

about this is that when the 49ers gave Kap that money...and really if you look at the structure of the contract it's pretty good for the 49ers...and their passing game continued to suck all we heard and hear is "that is a bad contract...they should not have given that to Kap...they made a mistake...paying a QB XXX amount of dollars a year and are ranked toward the bottom of the league in passing..."
Yet Juked James Watt comes out here...team gives up 41 points before HALFTIME...the defense has been trash all year...was trash for around half the season last year...but somehow nobody ever brings up the Kap argument...nobody says "Houston is toward the bottom of the league in generating pressre and QB sacks...how is this possible they gave JJ Watt all that money to generate pressure and get QB sacks...what a terrible deal...what a terrible move by Houston"
