For being the first overall pick of the 2014 NFL draft, it seems to many people that Clowney hasn’t lived up to expectations. He’s only played 380 snaps in his career to this point, and has yet to record his first NFL sack.

In reality, however, he has been playing very well in the NFL, especially against the run.

But Watt was up there too and he had all those passes deflected and that 70 yard pick 6 from the DEFENSIVE END position . Watt is still a top 5 player. He's gettting double and triple teamed now so he's still majorly impacting the game . Most brehs won't understand that because we're all worried about fantasy

But those double and triple teams aren't making a difference if teams can still run the ball on you three straight downs

@NYC Rebel Do you have PFF's plus package and can't you sort DE/OLB's and how often they drop into coverage? If Houston is asking their #1 pick to drop into coverage constantly its not the scheme its Crennel being an idiot. I cant imagine Denver is asking Von to drop back often- his job is primarily to rush the passer (and fwiw Miller does rush from the 3 point stance as well)

shyt is comedy if you go on the Clutchfans forums they were defending O'Brien for skipping on teddy because he was not winning but there were some people on that forum that were bring up his stats saying he will only get better, seems to me most texans fans believe anything the media tells them about their QBs about who will be good and who will suck a lot of them dont know shyt about football.

outside of watt the texans defense is garbage. their linebackers are terrible. the secondary is trash.

jj watt the only person worth a damn on the texans. he gets double teamed, triple teamed, chipped, held on every play because defensive coordinators have found out if they double/triple team watt then NOBODY ELSE will step up.

guys like clowney and mercilus should be ing with all the attention watt gets but they never dominate.

the fact that watt gets that kind of attention every game and still manages to contribute shows how much respect he gets in the NFL.

he was brought in to be a pass rusher shyt Gore ran for 98 yards last night and last week the Falcons combined for 135 as a team. Clowney is not being disruptive enough on defense and he seems to look lost a lot of the time. He could still be a force but even before his injury last year he wasn't making plays.
