I liked the fact that Raylan was more subdued as he got older but it doesn't work if other characters, especially his main adversary, are so mediocre. Three scenes with Boyd overshadowed everybody else that had 8 episodes of screen time
This psychopath from Oklahoma stealing cars, killing a judge, terrorizing the whole city, doing all types of wild shyt in broad daylight without any consequences would've been over the top for backwoods of Kentucky set 20 years ago but it's completely stupid for modern day Detroit.
And the guy wasn't even connected like that and didn't have anyone cleaning up after him. Clement Mansell was the type of character Raylan would've killed within two scenes in the original Justified, while he chased the main villain that had more nuance and depth.
Also, Walter Goggins is just a better actor
I don't think she really thought that, was just trying to garner some sympathy to keep herself from getting killed.I guess her being in the book would be a reason to try the pin the murders on someone else, but Raylan seemed to imply Manzell had someone on the inside prior to obtaining the book. Wonder what leverage he would have over her.

I'm on ep 5 and this is a snooze fest. When watching the og series, I was so into it that I would have to watch 2 episodes a day. Now it's taking me a week to get through 2 episodes of the new series.
Why would they make a new show and not reference anything in the old show??
Raylan don't even seem like the same character. We 5 episodes in and he ain't drew down on nobody yet.

This was by far the weakest season of Justfied. It has moments here and there but I feel like it needed to be 13 eps for us to get the know the characters better and let them cook.
I ripped through the OG Justified over 3 months.
This side quest? It's like the writers forgot what made the OG series good....until they get to the end....which then makes the whole thing seem cheap and pointless.
And why they do my man Luiz Guzman like that?

Is it worth finishing? I got a little past midway and dropped off. It was pretty much unwatchable after I had just binged the OG series.

The ending is worth it. The raylan development moments are worth it.

Finally watched this after binging the OG series. I didn’t expect it to be just like Justified, but more of an epilogue. That’s what it was.
The writing isn’t great, the characters aren’t memorable, and the story coulda been better. But it’s an ok standalone mini-series. This show doesn’t go anywhere if it doesn’t have Justified name attached to it.
-i had a feeling that was his real daughter playing the role. I had to check to see if it was. She’s in her early 20s trying to play a 15 YO.
-Raylan into brown sugar chubby women had us surprised.
-the only thing good about the main villain was the fukkery of trying to make him a singer. His obsession with the Stripes song was. I’m assuming that’s the tape he was trying to give Raylan?
-they made the Albanians to be some big bad scaries and they got clapped up in 10 minutes over a dumbass move.
If there is no follow up sequel with the Crowder/Givens final showdown, this was all a waste.
