She allowed herself to be used as a prop this way. utterly disgraceful. This is why a large swath of people don't vote and also why some dem voters
are disillusioned with the current political system. yeah sure his wife is an insurrectionist, He's taking away people's rights every other month but He remembers
the names of every staff member:snoop:

She didn’t allow herself to be a prop. she earnestly believes this. People who work in that part of DC live in a bubble since they don’t see the effects of their actions. They are too wealthy, sheltered and privileged to see these people like those that aren’t.

She also shut down Dapper Dan.

so you're saying people are so stupid that they won't vote and are disillusioned because someone like sotomayor -- who more times than not is voting in the correct manner -- doesn't view their enemies as enemies, but as colleagues who don't see the world the way they do? my suggestion is that they double down on the not voting and apathy, it's working. send a message to people like sotomayor (who you don't get to vote for by the way) that you aren't going to take it anymore.

The same voters who stayed home when they had a chance to shape the courts are NOW disillusioned?

:heh:
So what effect do you think comments like this will have on the dem base. will women who are about to have their reproductive rights
yanked away be energetic or demoralised by sotomayor metaphorically sucking the dikk one of the people spearheading the anti abortion law
movement

what about black people whose voting rights have been limited or stripped away as a result of the right wing supreme court, are they sitting at home cheering on sotomayor for her flowery comments about Uncle thomas.
You don't have to defend the indefensible.

defending the indefensible? so it's indefensible for someone who actually knows him to not hate him like I do even though I don't know him personally? like I said stay home and keep doing what they're doing, it's working.

Yes. It's morally bankrupt at worst and selfish at best to "like" a fascist that's making millions of people's lives hell because they are not an a$$hole to you in private

Sotomayor is basically saying, even though He's wrecking havoc on the nation, he's nice to me. who gives a fukk if uncle thomas is nice to his colleagues:gucci:
why does that even matter. a moral person wouldn't think highly of someone like that regardless of how they treat their fellow colleagues

Plenty of decent folks that have different workplace/political views than you. :heh:

It's going to have no affect because rational folks don't give a fukk if coworkers get along.

You can respect a person without respecting all their opinions.
How can you separate an individual from his politics and it isn't just any individual either but a freaking supreme court justice, who shape laws that affect generations of people

Also what values and qualities does thomas hold that you that makes him respectable

Can you list them

We don't know him personally. So that's why most people don't have an issue showing deference to someone who does...[
