first time I saw this was in the theater. Took a date to see something else and the projector was messed up, so we saw that poster on the way out and just dipped in. Man, from the get we were the only two people in the theater that were laughing. I dunno why, but the movie just clicked for some reason. No I'm not white. It just made me think of a lot of stuff. Everything about that movie was on point. One of those movies where no one is trying too hard. Very detailed movie too. I think it helps if you grew up with a lot of white people. Especially in smaller towns or suburbs. Very King of the Hillish. I bought it and watched it with my mom and aunt, and they were both laughing at the same stuff.

same here breh.

But the first time I saw it, in college, I didn't laugh. But I watched it again and was rolling.

My father is the last person I would've EVER expected to like it and one day when I came home, he was watching it.

I think it's the ultimate, "either you get it or you don't" type of film

I think some of it is generational too.

It seems like people that are old enough to remember the late 80s/early 90s get it. There were tons of those dorky white guys with bad haircuts, moon boots and molester glasses running around, but they weren't really represented in the media at the time - unlike in the 2000s where nerds rule everything around us - so if you didn't live it, you don't get it. It's like trying to explain a rotary phone or Saturday morning cartoons to someone who didn't experience it in real time, shyt just seems corny and lame.

I'm not saying that age is everything and the 90s kiddies can't find the humor, I'm just saying it's easier for 80s kids and lower to vibe with some of the references.

Honestly, you needed to kinda be an 80's baby or older to get it, it was really one of those movies that was a throwback to 80's/early 90's low budget comedies. I did have a best friend that was like a Black Napolean Dynamite, just awkward as fukk. He taught me how to play D and D and shyt. I think he's an accountant now.

This came out when I was in middle school and it was hilarious to me at the time.

I haven't seen it as an adult so I don't know if it holds up.
