I got 155Mbps for $35 ($40 w/tax). I can get 1Gbps for $54 but I just dont have the use for it. I routinely get +200Mbps as it is. Its not about how many devices you use, its about how many you use simultaneously and for me, 1Gbps just wasnt worth it. I bought the AC1600 router just in case I do upgrade though.

The answer is 1000x NO.

I have 25mbps, cut the cord, have everything connected. My games don't download as fast but I can knock out a 50gig game in about an hour. Tv/tablets/etc experience no drops, everything is in HD.

Netflix and Xbox live require 1.5mbps for gaming. I believe Netflix needs like 4.5mbps for HD and 25mbps to stream 4k

This shyt is all a scam tho, why you think we rated so low in the world when it comes to internet? Because these companies wanna sell you the same internet over and over again. Raising the speeds justifies raising in their eyes. We could all have 100gbps but how could they keep charging you full price if they did that?

I have 300 mbps and it's more than I use.

I'll probably downgrade to 150 when I move.

A gig would be silly.

I work for a cable company, they give you 75 Mbps free, after that you gotta pay for it.

Just got an email though saying they're upgrading the complimentary speed to one fiddy so I'm like :blessed:

For 20 bucks hell yeah it's worth it. Wish they had fios in my area. Once it comes through I'm switching. I'm paying $105 month for 300mbps down and 30 up with Cox
Dude I’m on the same plan with Cox (only it costs $80 after tax) and I never get more than 150mb/s even though my router and modem are supposed to be able to push up to 500mb/s. I feel like Cox is short changing me.

150mbs wireless sounds about right. You have to be wired in to get the max numbers.
