its may, everyone is banged up. just gotta play thru it.

anyway, i think game 2 is another must-win. don't want to give them any type of confidence.
this. winning game 2 buries them 6 feet under effectively. a team with little experience in hardship will fold at that sort of adversity. to then have to win 2 games in Miami then?

Whiteside drawing double and triple teams is what left Dragic open for that corner 3.

Whiteside made the leap.

:whew:

God I hope his knees ok, they're gonna try to keep going at Whiteside because he might be a step slow. Shoutout to Amare for giving us great Vet minutes.

For his flaws, Whiteside is still one of the most well-rounded centers and his impact is unreal on both ends. Dude commands like two bodies boxing him out at all times.

Crazy thing about this team is that we have these horrible or close games when Deng has a bad game but drag stepped it up and we still won this one. When we get 20 pts or more from deng we have great games. He really is the key to all of our team success cause he also dishes the ball when he sees the open man

2016 NBA playoffs: Toronto Raptors snubbed Hassan Whiteside in 2014 | Heat Zone

Mere months before Hassan Whiteside’s breakthrough with the Miami Heat in 2014, the Raptors had a chance at him.

Toronto picked him up for Summer League after his time playing in Lebanon and China, but wasn’t impressed enough to invite him to training camp. Whiteside thought he earned at least a shot in camp after averaging 6.7 points on 54.5 percent shooting, 10 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in 17 minutes over three games in Las Vegas.

“I guess it didn’t work out,” Whiteside said this morning. “They didn’t ever give me a reason.”

That could be a recurring theme in their first-round playoff series, which starts tonight, and Whiteside said recently his revenge tour against teams that passed him up is ongoing.

Nonetheless, his stint with the Raptors was a step forward in his return to the league, and Memphis invited him to camp a month after he got back from Las Vegas.

“It was encouraging,” he said. “It was good. I rebounded really well. I led the Summer League in blocks per minute or rebounds per minute. I was playing like 20 minutes. I averaged good numbers. I think it really helped get Memphis to give me an invite because teams got to see me. I got an opportunity to play in front of NBA scouts again.”

Whiteside’s favorite bit of trivia from his time with Toronto? The player management chose over him.

“They ended up going with Greg Stiemsma,” he said. “So they got Greg Stiemsma. Greg Stiemsma.”

In 2014-15, while Whiteside was enjoying his resurgence, Stiemsma totaled 14 points, 15 rebounds and zero blocked shots in 17 games for the Raptors. He is currently out of the league.

"so now they got greg stiemsma greg stiemsma"

Deng is dangerous because he's pretty much the "least dangerous" of our starters in pure offensive impact but he's so versatile that he can get buckets in any offensive set (threes, mid-range, post, cuts) and he has a knack for spotting defensive lapses to make the right play.

Deng and Whiteside are the offensive and defensive foundation for the team due to their consistency. They're the guys that seem to keep the offense afloat during those moments where our rooks might get nerves, Wade's age starts to show, or Dragic/Joe are out of rhythm.

Raptors' Lowry practices in post-loss session

But immediately following his team's 102-96 loss to the Miami Heat, Lowry was on the practice court attached to Air Canada Centre trying to fix his broken jump shot. He later moved to the main court, following his media availability, and was practicing well past midnight ET in an empty, 19,800-seat arena.
