you didn't see that he only got in the game in the 4th quarter? he played a total of 4 whole minutes in a preseason game he's like 3rd on the Magic's depth chart. one shot doesn't change that he's a fringe player man
He only played 4 minutes but got 2 dimes and 7 points including the game winner. Chalmers played 15 mins scored 1 point and 3 turnovers :dame:

we really going thru this again? like we didn't have an entire season to watch Napier put up shytty numbers? ya'll memories are that bad? he got every chance in the world to prove himself last season, including tons of starts. hes not a good player and he's not better than chalmers. stop it. there's a reason he's not even getting PT in orlando

I said it when it happened, but I think The Don fukked up by giving up on him so soon. Now if Napier not being here is a back breaker for them they're in trouble but he would've been a nice piece to hold onto especially since they didn't really get anything for him.

so we really going to sit here and act like Napier didnt have a stretch early in the season where he averaged double digit scoring before inexplicably being sent to the d-league, only to come back a month later an entirely different player? You dont think Spo and that coaching staff cutting his balls off just like they did Beasley in his 2nd stint had anything to do with his play? There's gonna come a time this year where ya'll going to wish there was a true PG coming off the bench instead of Chalmers turning the ball over ass and I'm just going to sit here like :sas2:

and we gonna act like when Wade was out with his hamstring chalmers didn't average 19 points a game? how did Spo cut his balls off when he got his starts after coming back? Napier won't be in the league soon.
oh and those 7 points he scored came against our 3rd string PG and guys who won't be on the roster. same kind of people he "dominated" in summer league

One NBA general manager who spoke to the Heat said Heat brass realized Shabazz Napier “was not good enough. At that size (6-1), you have to be really quick or a very good shooter, and he’s neither.”… Please see the last post for details on Josh Richardson’s signing.

Trade, Shabazz Napier, Miami Heat, Orlando Magic

This was posted in the Herald a while back. I think he should still be on the roster because he is cheap talent. Napier has the skills to run the point but he couldn't hit a jumper to save his roster spot. A certain endorsement for him didn't help his chances either.

The bold isn't really true. He shot 36% from 3 on 2 attempts per game last year. That's not great, but it's not bad at all, especially for a rookie. You'd have to imagine that that percentage would only go up as he got more comfortable with the range. Like you said, he should still be on the roster because he's cheap and at least has some skill. He's better than Ennis and shot the exact same % from 3 as Chalmers last year (who the best part of his offensive game is supposed to be his 3 point shot).
