kobe won 2 more rings after turning 30 with only pau gasol.
bron this year can't even compete in the weak east with kyrie and kevin love. let that marinate.
I disagree with the premise of this thread, I think lebron is coasting by working hard not smart because he knows he can crank it up playoff time. I see kyrie being more of a problem than love. Lebron went to the perfect situation in miami where he was respected, d wade was top 5 player when lebron arrived & he took a backseat & so did bosh.
I think kyrie wants to prove he's the best PG in the game because there's no cohesiveness to his game, it's dribble the ball down & shoot it. Also most importantely I don't believe kyrie is in "awe" of lebron the way norris cole or chalmers were, he doesn't wanna be lebron's "little brother".
Furthermore this is just my opinion on lebron, yes he's the best player in the league & has been for while but to me he comes across so contrived. He said he wanted to "go home" after 4 consecutive finals appearances but I don't think it was about going home, I think lebron just wants to be liked again. I mean you had cacs burning his jersey & speaking about him as if he was some type of dictator, fukk em I NEVER would've went back...
its funny how everything i said over the last year is coming into fruition right now. i said bron would have a iverson-esque decline once his athleticism faded. however, even i didn't think it would start this soon.
my projections were that bron would be outta the league by 35. now i think he'll be lucky to make it to 33 still playing at an all-star level.
What do you attribute it to then? I don't think bron has lost a step, he's just trying to win in a different way now. Remember MJ was all flash in his 20s & has he got older, he perfected his jumpshot, maybe that's what lebron is trying to do.

Said it before I'll say it again we will look back at Lebron jumping ship as one of the most puzzling decisions by a superstar ever. Leave a generational team to go home brehs
damn when LeBron was on the heat I was all for pushing the Lebron>Kobe narrative
but now? LeBron never topping Kobe
I'll be fair. And this is coming from a Wade Stan: he 100% let LeBron down last year. He became fompcomplacent being the #2 (arguably #3) guy instead of being 1B like he was the first couple years. Hell, he was out of shape in the Finals. If I could see it, I'm sure Bron did. That said, from Day 1 I've always said Miami was the better option if he was signing a 2-year dealD Wade is looking better than he has in the last 2 seasons, LeBron walked away from Chris Bosh and a Healthy Wade (who is a top 10 player) for Kyrie and a K Love (the 3rd option version). I Thought LeBron left for a better BIG 3?
Lebron done goofed ya'll
what made lebron great was that he was a battering ram that drove into the paint and either sucked the whole defense in for his teammates to get open shots or finishing over contact. without the explosiveness to finish at the rim anymore, he is no longer the mismatch he used to be. he doesn't have the footwork or technical ability to dominate from the mid-range the way kobe and mike did in their later years.
i've compared the end of bron's career to iverson before, however, now that i think about it i think Shaq is a better comparison. cause thats how bron dominated the game from the perimeter. through sheer force like shaq. once shaq lost his explosiveness, he lost what made him special and quickly became mediocre. i see the same for bron as he gets deeper into his 30s.
we'll also remember ray allen's shot as possibly saving whatevers left of lebron's legacy.
imagine if allen misses that shot and bron is right now 1 outta 5 in nba finals. along with this epic decline in one season. dude would be elgin baylor status.
Only pau gasol, artest, odom, and Phil Jackson and Kobe was basically out of the playoffs in 2013 despite having nash, artest, pau, dwight.

kobe turned 30 in 2008. this is what he did in the playoffs the next 4 years.
you really think bron can do shyt like this for ages 30-33? fukk kobe in 2013 looks more explosive than bron does this season.
the bron fall off the next couple of years is gonna be UGLY.
Kobe had 1 excellent playoff run in 2009. He got raped in 2008 and didn't look great in 2010 (at least in the finals) or 2011.
As for your point about Lebron's athleticism, it may just be that he's taking it easier this year to make sure he can make deep playoff runs. Kobe never made the finals 4 straight years and Kobe never played as hard on both ends of the floor as Lebron with the Heat.
