No respect to the previous generation. It would be like people saying Vince Carter >> Dr J or Dirk > Bird.
Alonzo Mourning > Moses Malone. Shaq >>>>>>>> Wilt.

Players during the 90's were given their proper respect but players in the 80's and back didn't get shytted on or disrespected. Kobe got compared to MJ but it was out of respect, not to crown him GOAT.

Young people kill me when it comes to their sports narrative. Same thing in football. They shyt on players they never saw play in their prime if at all. Trying to talk shyt even though you can smell the baby food and breast milk on their stank breath. Dismiss entire generations of players just because you were too young or wasn't born to see them play breh's :mjpls:

There's a reason why you pay $400 for Jordans that came out when the sperm that made you didn't even get produced yet.

Just like old people think the game was better in the past. It's human nature to place more emphasis on things you've actually seen and witnessed than those you've merely read about or experienced secondhand.

Combine that with the desire to claim the most recent thing the best thing ever, and you get what you're describing.

It's always been this way and it's never going to change.

Never say it was better. The rules have changed so it's hard to judge players because from past and resent because of that. In football, you can't really judge quarterbacks from different eras based on stats.
In basketball, you can't judge guards so much because of the rules on how you play defense.

My only memories of Bill Walton was when he was a cheerleader on the Boston bench, but when people say he was dominate in Portland, I never dismissed it. Based on how the game is played today, Tim Hardaway would :eat: but Gary Payton wouldn't have been called the glove neither. It's all about putting things in proper perspective.

If you were born in 90 like me you got to see..

Duncan-goat pf
Brady-goat qb
Bron-might go down as the goat SF

Then you got Kobe/manning/Jeter/KG etc who are all top 5 at their position, are we really that far off :yeshrug:

Montana never lost a Super Bowl and would've had more if his backup wasn't a HOF QB.

He then takes the Chiefs to the AFC title game in his short stint there and they haven't been back since.

I'll give you Duncan. His game transcends different era's. But the difference between me and young nikkas is I don't go around dismissing PF's before Duncan.

What's that got to do with anything?

That just means he wasn't good enough to make the SB in the years he didn't make it. If you make the SB and lose, it's better than not making the SB at all. Same stupid argument is made for Jordan not losing in the Finals.

Brady is top 3-5 all time in every major passing stat and he's number one all time in playoff pass yards, wins and touchdowns. And he got 4 rings and 6 Super Bowl runs. Dude had the best balance of winning/stats of any QB by far

That's like saying Cy Young is GOAT because he has over 500 wins. He played in a different era with different rules.

QB's can't get touched anymore. WR's can run across the middle with out having to worry about getting hit. You can't compare stats. And there were a lot of great teams in the NFC during Montana's career and great defenses.

He means he never lost the most important game of the season. He was damn near perfect. Never threw a pick.

Tom Brady would of never survived in the era joe montana played in. He already gets happy feet when he get hit, them 80s and 90s LBs woulda killed him :mjlol: hes not built for any NFL era but the one he currently plays in.. On the flip side if Joe Montana played in this pass friendly era :wow:

tom Brady not even in my top 5 :camby: Matt Cassel got 11 wins with that team :mjlol: how can you even put a QB like Brady over someone like steve young or brett favre :mjlol:

joe montana, brett favre, steve young, dan marino all clearly better than him and I got peyton and rodgers over him too :manny: if you wanna put brady over peyton - whatever, but hes no where near as good as the other qbs i just listed
