I wouldn't take that chance, I'd go ahead and take that misdemeanor

Obviously it's your call, but I wouldn't let my ego get too much involved because they'll send you down shyts creek without any hesitation or second thought

:manny:

It's not just his ego. Do people value their reputation and future so little?

Plea bargains should be taken off the table. When ypu threaten someone with 20 years in prison, any confession given is given under extreme pressure.

Bullshyt has been allowed to go on for too long.

Time served on a misdemeanor down from a felony that carries 20 years and you think his lawyer is “terrible”?:what:
Yes because i good lawyer would have sniffed the fact the city had no case and brow beat the prosecutor to toss the case out or reduce charges from jump. A good lawyer wouldn't keep asking his client to take one shytty offer after another when the city has a weak case. Imagine if he agreed to the 5 year bid? WTF?

Your deal should be based on your degree of guilt and available evidence to prosecute.

As somebody who works in this field(often in that courthouse as a matter of fact) you can “browbeat” the prosecutor all you want, but if they aren’t going to dismiss it that’s just what it is. And I can tell you the ADA’s in that county need to get permission from their supervisor to dismiss a case and they will hold on to it until the very last minute. There’s NOTHING you can do about that except be prepared to go to trial. I used to be a prosecutor...nobody gives a fukk about that “browbeat” crap. This ain’t t.v.

That being said, the prosecutor has come down a LONG way in their offer. That says they don’t really believe they have a good case. It might be best to say you want a trial. Even a misdemeanor on your record can mess you up in the future.

If he accepts this deal
Can the misdemeanor be expunged like some are saying in this thread?

What kinda dumb shyt was you doing to be facing 40 years :good_grief:
Shorty fought for me and she's a young black lawyer. She never bullshyted me or gave me false hope. Kept in contact, did her own investigation, and interviews. Most of the motions were granted too.

I owe her my life. She gave me realistic advice and percentages. She told me she would take care of me from the jump. Her mentor, an older black woman, also spoke with me. I'm satisfied with their work.

I was originally facing 40+ years. 5 felony charges breh.

If he is eligible and took it under Georgias First Offender statute. Now You only get to use that once in life...so if you feel like your lifestyle or habits might bring about a felony in the future, you might want to save that.

I agree with you. But being an idealist is a luxury brother. And it's clearly a luxury he can't afford.

Part of being a man is knowing when to fight and when to bow out. He has two black women that just saved his life, he needs to accept the deal and keep it moving seriously. This will be a textbook case of when keeping it real goes wrong if he doesn't. If the homie had the bread to fight it would be a different story, but he doesn't.

The same concept can be found in sales. This costs $1000.00 but we will drop it to $500.00 when the actual value is $50.00.

Accepting the offer will not save his life. It will damage his reputation and hold him back in life. They get you focus on the higher cost so that you don't see them robbing you blind, which is what would happen if he pleaded guilty.

They need to prove his guilt, beyond a shadow of a doubt. What evidence do they have? An unreliable witness and? CCTV footage that doesn't show him focusing the complainant.

Saddens me that so many people are prepared to just bend over like that. Makes me realise the need for advocates who give a damn because too many fail to realise what they are worth and what they are entitled to .

Don't understand why folks do crimes knowing the punishment could be not being around any females for a few months to yrs
Because they’re doing the crimes in the first place to attract those same women. Just a lot of dudes got terrible risk:reward mental ratios.

They dropped it from 10 hard years in booty pounding prison to time served on a misdemeanor

Take it to trial Breh, they don’t have shyt.

Think of it like this, they wouldn’t drop it to time served if they had you on camera, had dna evidence, 2 solid witnesses... Shid they would drop it to 8 years at best

As someone who been to court multiple times for the same charge. Breh better take that deal. Going to court over and over is stressful. He’s going to continue to miss time from work and the fact he really won’t know the outcome for days/weeks. shyt get this crap over and move on.

You just never know how shyt is going to go...
