Me and my family are Belizean as well (Belize City). I'm actually related to a popular politician out here...he was also minister of housing at one point.

I have a little bit of property out there (family thing), but I'm not sure what I can/going to do with it at this point.

Ol buddy up there that was giving a breakdown on how the women look is 100% accurate....

You can get Free Land that's reason enough to go. How is the Blackout situation?
Just asked my Dad. I haven’t experienced one. He says they have them but they last less than 30 minutes. Mostly during the summers.

As a child, no house had A/C. Now more and more people are retiring and building out here. They want the modern amenities.

Still less than an hour in a third world country is great! Maybe once a month.

@BelizeKing how is the infrastructure? Do you need a fat ass suv to get around on the roads?
My Dad has a Pilot and Uncle has a Tacoma. Overall, as long as you don’t stay in the back a bush, you straight.

My other Uncle, had a Lexus coupe for years with no problem.

:ehh:

Are you or do you know anyone using the Qualified Retirement Program?

Belize and Panama been the main two places I been looking at long-term for whenever I decide to bounce.

The biggest thing for me is how feasible is it to set up shop and build something that all of my kids and future generations can stay at/come to in regard to housing and land? My needs are simple don’t need no luxury shyt, just want peace of mind and the basics.

For reference I’m 100% VA disabled so I got some cushion and the only thing right now disqualifying me from the retirement program is age. So for now, the plan is to finish my degree, work a few more years to stack up, then make my move and never look back.
My pops used it. If it’s the same program, you get a big tax break for everything you import. The minimums aren’t that high. Setting up an off shore account is easy as well.

Belize can’t take your land. That’s one great thing about it. If you don’t pay your taxes, there no liens or issues, but you can’t transfer the title or do anything with it.

We are a small economy though. Cost of living is relatively high compared to our neighbors. The issue is our fuel prices. It’s 6-7 USD a gallon. That affects everything.

@Noriega has the info on Panama, but if you really want some info on Belize. I got you. Overall, Panama is probably the best bet. Belize is still nice for the simple life.

Are you familiar with San Pedro? If so how do you feel about it being gentrified
5 yrs ago I was out there and that stretch between San Pedro and secret beach was damn near deserted. That crazy tech billionaire was the only cac living out there really. Now it’s all kinds of hotels and real estate agents hyping up the strip

Is English really as good as they say out there, and where would you suggest somebody go for a first trip?
Yes. You can understand everybody for the most part.

San Pedro is great for your first trip. Fly into Belize then fly into the cayes. They have golf carts to travel the island. Seafood is fresh. Women everywhere and no real petty crime.

Next spot would be Placencia. You are on the mainland and can still enjoy the country. Hit the Mayan ruins and enjoy Hopkins and the Garifuna culture.

It’s sad. We are selling our country to the highest bidder. Foreigners will own most of the country within the next 100 years.

What about the Mosquitos? I stayed in rural Jamaica and they had to spray the house down with some wierd ass aerosol can of shyt not sold in america.

In Nairobi depending on where you were there were mosquitoes the ones at night pissed me off buzzing in my ear when I was sleeping.

I found that the reason we don't have them in the cities is because. cities spray areas down but we don't see it.

Other than that Mosquitos don't like cool weather so a powerful fan or A/C will keep them away as will certain kinds of incense.

Being in the good Ol'usa was you ok with no A/C?

How's the weather in general It's the same in Colombia hot but rains in the afternoon that cools everything off.

I saw on a passport bro channel that this Belizian girl said Man short In Belize that's a Jamaican saying I know you can't quantify it but what would happen if say several thousand Passport bros came down there?

I hear a bunch of passport bros talking about going to Guyana as an alternative to Colombia.
