this thread took a turn

but usually universities are hiring for research staff or techs at around 30k. you can use it to move onto grad school

otherwise, its city dependent. if you live in a pharma dense area, you might be able to do some entry level QC.

what are the databases that you are using for your search right now

CRNA is too stagnant. Only 1 thing you can do. I love the freedom of being a physician. You can do so many things.

@BlvdBrawler Actually RNs have a huge advantage over other applicants. I wanted to put myself and my wife in a position to eat first. I m going to grad school after my wife graduates

This was a question you should have posed oh say... 4 or 5 years ago.

Yeah, I wonder why he choose Biology? From what I understand you have a choice between industry, medical, or academic.

Only medical requires post graduate education. He seems leaning towards industry and there are a lot of opportunities.

the road to being a physician is long and arduous. While the rewards are great, be prepared to buckle down and study for at least 7 years (medical school and residency). Depending on the residency you choose to go into, it could take up to 10years total.

I m ready for it. Let's not act like med students don't start getting paid right after med school, a little more for each year of residency. Then, a lot more when they become a MD. They make money while they're specializing in the branch they want. I have already talked to several med students and residents. They all getting bread while learning. Heck, if I want I can just take an easy job making 150-200k for the rest of my life if I don't wanna continue. Not bad at all

depending on where you live, residents get paid 35-40k/year. Its not horrible, but it actuality its a pittance compared to how hard you actually work.

don't listen to that number. That's just a base pay. Their schedule is like 4-5 days a week and 12-16 hrs/day. That's a lotta OTs breh

The days of getting a bachelor and getting like a 45k starting Job are dead. The market is influx with people with even masters.

20%-30% of the population have four year degrees, less than that have Masters.

Where did you do your research? :heh:

Just because people are going to school doesn't mean they are finishing. :pachaha:

According to Educational Attainment in the United States: 2009, the unemployment rate for high school dropouts reached a peak in January 2010 (17.6 percent) and February 2010 (17.9 percent). In February, unemployment for people with a bachelor's degree was 5.9 percent.

Try finding a job without a bachelor's :laff:

Overall, high school graduates earned approximately $4,700 in mean monthly earnings compared with GED certificate holders, who earned $3,100. This difference in earnings is only partly because of lower levels of educational attainment of those who earned a GED certificate rather than a high school diploma. Among adults who attained a bachelor's degree or higher, the mean earnings of those who earned a high school diploma were approximately $6,300

No surprise. Education = $$$ yet people still piss their college years away and have nothing to show for it. :why:
