What type of jobs are available out here? I don't think I can do the medical or dental route. I'm looking for employment now.

You're gonna need more education breh. Not really much you can do with just a BS. What are you looking to do and why don't you wanna go to med or dental school? Low GPA or you just burnt out?

The days of getting a bachelor and getting like a 45k starting Job are dead. The market is influx with people with even masters.

Are you planning on going back to school?
Or try and get a intern gig if you can

I have a B.S. in bio and I'm eating pretty well as an analytical chemist. If you're not going to pharmacy school, med school, or furthering your bio education in grad school, you should try to get on as a lab technician or environmental chemist for now. It won't pay much, but it will make your resume look good for the next opportunity. Most biology or chemistry-related jobs that pay a decent wage require a few years of experience in the field. For instance, I worked two low-paying jobs as a lab tech fresh out of college before I got on as an analytical chemist. But the pay is good and it's not bad work. Some AC and QA jobs will hire fresh out of college too, you never know. ACs need a lot of training and skill, so they generally prefer those with experience in a lab environment. If you see one, apply. Apply everywhere because you need experience at the bare minimum. Good luck.

Depends. I was making 45k within a little over a year of graduating. This was back in like 06 though. You gotta be patient. I worked 60 hours a week at two jobs that paid $11-12 per hour each for a year. You gotta build your resume.

60 hours a week :dwillhuh: damn i guess i should not complain about my hours again

damn i just work 64 in two weeks but on salary :takedat:

but that was in 06, 06 jobs were surplus, i remember just being out of school, first semester of law school (that i dropped out of) and having like 4-5 job offers a few even government and i just graduated with a law and society degree, now I've been looking for a new job as the pay is decent where i work but growth is stagnant, 5 years experience in what I do not even a callback :smh:

my brother in law been out of work for 3 months, was making 95k as a business analyst has over 10 years of experience still nothing.

its hard out there, the jobs out there are just contract for the most part or seasonal

I just tok the GRE, so it's too late to apply to Grad School.
The med school situation seems a little taxing. It's like once you start your life is :dead:. I may look into it.

I really fukked up by not getting any research experience.

I was looking for something that I could do for a year or two.

Grad school is next. Might want to try an MBA. In this economy, if you can find a job that pays 40k in a city where cost of living ain't high, you are doing good.

My first job out of college paid 32k, good thing for me I lived with my parents and stacked bread and moved out one I had a nice nest egg. I worked a lot overtime too. While you are young, don't EVER turn down overtime. Eventually, I almost doubled my salary. I also have a business on the side which is doing well. If you are a young black man, you NEED to have a side hustle, legal of course. I don't plan on working for someone else all my life. Hopefully, by this time next year I will be my own boss.
