Black.people can never enjoy anything ehh

I don't think he was trying to say that.

There's nothing wrong with all the passion and support for Black Panther, but damn, why can't we have that same level of passion and support for black owned things?

And i'm not talking about the Coli, the Coli's a message board, i'm talking about the black population in general. We have a long way to go in terms of seeing our OWN stuff as being as good as, or better than white people's stuff.

I know some nikka will run in here and throw around the overused term "hater" because they can't come up with any sort of valid counterargument to what i'm saying. We do need to love black owned stuff as much as we love white owned stuff. Right now, we do not. And i'm doing more than most of the people who are going to get mad at this post.

Congratulations to ryan, chadwick and all the other brothers and sisters in the film...

And by all means enjoy the film

But why is black people acting like this some whole revolutionary thing is happening based off a 1966 comic book written by a white man

After about 3 months it's back to The same reality of internal fighting among each other and complaining and the same hood shyt in the community.

Maybe. Maybe not. I've been critical of what I termed a premature celebration of this movie and its impact, souring on what I saw as a comparably muted response to Nate Parker's excellent biopic of Nat Turner's rebellion. But, within the present climate of America and the simmering battle that nears us thanks to Trump and his clear white supremacist agenda, I think this movie is an important call of arms around which black people may just coalesce and form a unified front as we prepare for what's coming. At this point, even though the money is going into the pockets of the white execs who financed its development, I'm rooting for this to succeed. :francis:

It may be corny to some or fake or white owned but...it's something. I say let's roll with it and at least see where it ends up.

It's seems to be the right movie at the right time or Marvel can afford a lot of social media agents

I'm literally beside myself. Seriously, all it took was a Disney movie? Brehs finally gonna start their own black businesses and marry black now? Or are they just pretending for show? Time will tell. What a time to be alive.

Exactly bro, that's all i'm saying.

These nikkas don't understand that i want to see the community overall in a better economic state. All i've talked about on here since i joined is putting your dough in a black owned bank, entrepreneurship, group economics, etc. And got hate for it too.

That's why i kind of like The Root, HL and 6 Certs better than TLR, because over there you can have a discussion without brehs getting so defensive. Even if they may not agree, they still generally can respect the other viewpoint without getting emotional and name-calling etc

I want us as a race to support our OWN stuff just as passionately as we support theirs. I never once said "don't go see the movie", i just said i wish we would go all out like this for our OWN stuff too.

I bet if you asked a lot of them if they even use a black bank, if they own, or often support already existing black businesses, or invest in black business start ups, etc the answer would be no. Why can't we go out and support our own shyt in droves the same way? Yeah there are a few brehs on here who do that but in terms of the collective :francis:

Real nikkas root for villains

Truth. Partly why I can't tolerate superhero an action films. I'm always sympathizing with the villain and I know how the ending is gonna go so why bother. Good guy wins, bad guy loses and dies. What's the point if that's always the case?
I already know they kill Killmonger in this film and haven't seen the film yet, if ever. Only positive about his death is the comics have resurrected him a few times, so he'll likely be back.
