Poetical Poltergeist
Precise and cold hearted
I think I'll take the coli consensus on this one and skip it. I almost went this past weekend but my daughter didn't seem interested anymore and in all honesty I had lost interest in this movie back in early May after seeing the trailer in the theater. Just looked dumb.@HHR isnt a snob actually. Dude has a pretty high bar yeah but he can get down with anything if it speaks to him on some level and can explain why he does and doesn’t like something in pretty simple terms. i think I know him well enough to know why this spoke to him.
But as always with me, I like what I like and I really don’t give a shyt what anyone thinks
This isn’t a flick I’ll come back to often or will even think of putting it on my end of year list but I enjoyed it despite some of its character trope issues. The Jurassic Park movies have always been high class B movies. And I don’t think B movie is a pejorative either; THEM is a B movie as is most of the classic sci-fi flicks from the 50s-90s. Spielberg elevated it because he’s Spielberg but lost world went dirtier and grimier.
Collin gave it a sheen with Jurassic world while also commenting on the nature of reboots and remakes and fandom.
Bayona is a guy who loves horror and got his start with Del Toro so his instincts are definitely more geared to classic B movie but prettier. And that’s exactly what he did.
I fukked with the look of it and the feel and the implications of the ending along with its continuous theme of mans folly and arrogance and how that will be our downfall.
So see it for yourself see what you think if not
And no hate towards you bruh, I'm just clowning, no need to defend homie on some I know him personally I have no issues with him being a movie snob, I'm just talking shyt.
