Man o man calves are feeling like. :krs: remember me, friend? Bought a new jumprope last week and did about 30 - 35 minutes with it. I was kinda tired afterwards, had a nice dinner. Everything was good.

In the morning? In the morning friends. :leon: Haw man a brothers calves were done. Im around here walking like i got soiled diapers right now. I wasnt expecting my shoulders to get such a workout either. Quads are already fairly powerful so the impact there was not that bad. I guess its different muscles but dang. I think my shoulders wanted to give before my lungs and legs.

Get a jumprope yall. When done consistently you will have some good endurance and new found strength.

Say friend, what do you recommend for jump roping? The running motion or the jumping motion?

shyt, it's the most boring thing ever though. I give up after 10 minutes, especially if I keep fukking it up and it's clipping my trainers.

I already naturally run and walk on my toes/balls of my feet, plus I run barefoot... Jump roping was made for me :blessed:

I do both friend. When my legs get too burned out jumping i switch to running and vice versa. I also hop on 1 leg and step from side to side like im doing tire drills on the football field. All equate to burn and burned up calves. I also kinda dance when i jumprope. Its such angelic feeling for a friend like me, friend. The rope is also rotating at such a rate of speed that my shoulders are feelin like ahhhhhhhhhhhh, like AHhhhhhhhhhhh, friend. Your jumprope regiment is only as good as you make it.

To avoid the boredom of jumping rope i zone out into my favorite hiphop tracks. I mean if you can get through about 12 of your favorite hiphop songs, you're practically done.

How should I start? I'm out of shape and I have jump rope :guilty:

You can start with a 15 minute jump to see how you feel. Break it up into 2-5 minute sets depending on how you feel. You can start with a basic jump off 2 feet or you can do the girl jump when you kinda studder step and kick one of your legs back. The ultimate goal though is to get to 30 - 45 minutes, 20 of them being uninterrupted.

Still, start with 15 - 20 minutes and break it up into 2-5 minute sets. Good luck, friend.

"why do my eyes hurt"

"because you've never used them before"

I warn you though, your calves will feel like Neo's eyes when he woke up out of the Matrix and your shoulders may give out on you before your legs do which will cause you to screw up many many times during your jumps. Dont get discouraged though. Even if you mess up the jump, keep a diddy bop going and recover. Dont stop just because the rope hit your feet if you find that it keeps hitting your feet over and over again. Keep that little jump goin so you're at least doing the motions.

Like others have said, jumping rope isn't the best form of cardio (although it is good sh!t) ..I think running sprints is the best. I always carry a rope with me to the gym. I try to mix up running on the treadmil, stair-stepper and jumping rope for cardio.

I've been jumping rope for 10+ years. I recommend the Buddy Lee rope. It's a little more expensive, but the bearings allow you to whip that thing around like Floyd...well maybe not exactly like Floyd, but you get the picture...

Search Buddy Lee on youtube, he's got some insane videos...
