Thats true. I'm sure they were patterned after Naughty. I read an interview where JD admitted its part of his business model to use other artists styles. He said Xscape was supposed to be the female Jodeci. Da Brat got compared to Kurrupt when she came out. JD himself is like the down south Diddy lol.

the second album? It was all good till they dropped that wack album. With Jump, for a second, they had us fooled into believing they were bad ass kids. Illegal would fill that 'bad ass kids' void a year later.
the second album?
but I'm not familiar with the other joints so..
For some reason the song jumped into my head like 20 minutes ago, And I went to check out how huge of a hit it was. It was the third biggest song in America the year it released and went 2x platinum(single)
But the interesting thing that caught me was the list of samples it contained.
"Jump" uses samples of "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5, "Funky Worm" by Ohio Players, "Impeach the President" by The Honey Drippers, "Midnight Theme" by Manzel, "Escape-Ism" by James Brown, "Saturday Night" by Schoolly D, and a replay of "O.P.P." by Naughty by Nature."
That's crazy.
