That shot wasn't for that breakbeat nikkas was.bitin.his style so.hard it had us wonderin if he ghostwrote it..fukk.astronauts i.rock it and from.now on.if you bite my shyt when.I.see you.I'm in.yo pockets

Thats true. I'm sure they were patterned after Naughty. I read an interview where JD admitted its part of his business model to use other artists styles. He said Xscape was supposed to be the female Jodeci. Da Brat got compared to Kurrupt when she came out. JD himself is like the down south Diddy lol.

That's one thing I HATED about JD. You can clearly hear that nikka biting the West Coast and Death Row styles and sounds back then but he made it sound good! The Brat was a female Snoop Doggy Dogg. They even dissed her on What Would You Do like she was hanging around soaking up game.

Kriss Kross was too plastic for me.....maybe if i was 9 years old i woulda fell for it but I was 13 and when Ice Cube and Kane are your favorites Kriss Kross doesn't match up. Plus, when it came to "bad ass kids" Juvenile Delinquints were my go to.....Thats who i was anticipating even tho they never did anything after that 1 song.......they convinced me they were real 'bad ass kids' compared to Kriss Kross

For some reason the song jumped into my head like 20 minutes ago, And I went to check out how huge of a hit it was. It was the third biggest song in America the year it released and went 2x platinum(single)

But the interesting thing that caught me was the list of samples it contained.

"Jump" uses samples of "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5, "Funky Worm" by Ohio Players, "Impeach the President" by The Honey Drippers, "Midnight Theme" by Manzel, "Escape-Ism" by James Brown, "Saturday Night" by Schoolly D, and a replay of "O.P.P." by Naughty by Nature."

That's crazy.

JD wrote it though......as well as 80% of the content released under his name and or imprint....most impressively Ushers My Way album and Jagged Edges catalogue.....:ehh:

Edit: Mariahs come back album as well
