Not sure how much love footwork and Chicago juke get on here (this is way old thread), but I love this music so gonna post from time to time.

DJ Clent started a "radio station", really an phone app with continous mixes from his Beatdown House imprint. It went for about 9-10 months but is maybe defunct now? Not sure what they're doing with it.

Traxman put out an album back in November that's decent. His spot on Rinse.fm in December was :gladbron:

DJ Manny's album "Greenlight", was on repeat right at the beginning of the year for me. Copped it on vinyl. Went and saw him and a few other Tek Life DJ's around that same time by Wrigleyville.

DJ Taye got a new album coming out at the start of March. He's done a few mixes for Red Bull radio recently.

Saw Jlin early last year. She's putting out some of the most challenging footwork music and really pushing the limits of the genre.

DJ Orange Julius album last year was pretty good. He's part of a crew of footwork DJs from outside Chicago that I think bring a lot to the genre.

Taso put out an EP at the end of 2016. I think he's originally from the Bay but he had been with Tek DJs and DJ Rashad and them for a minute.

Oh, forgot. RP Boo had a set on Rinse.fm last week. Haven't had a chance to listen to it all the way through, but from what I have, it's fire.

No one really replied and I forgot about this thread. I still follow the genre heavy. If I have time I'll post some updates.

i been in contact with the homie dj phil and i have switched genres as far as production. i will be coming out with some material in june alot of the advice ive gotten is mostly because i been in hip hop production 15 years and switching isnt that simple but over the last year its coming together, in the mean time i fukks with every label, beatdown, juke mx, mataraca, booty tunes etc

So as an update since 2018.

Traxman and DJ Earl put out a lot of releases, mostly through Bandcamp.

LA DJ, Cakedog, put out a compilation of his footwork tracks back in 2019, called "Doggystyle".

DJ Phil, after a somewhat long hiatus, put out an EP in 2019 called 'Back to the Beginning'.

DJ Innes put out a comp in 2019 called 'Shouts Out!'

DJ Nate, another one who seemingly was on hiatus from releasing much material, put out a great album on Planet Mu called 'Take Off Mode'.

One of my favorite releases since 2018 was RP Boo's "I'll Tell You What!"

Teklife has put out a few free compliations at the beginning of the past few years. Here's 2019 and 2020.

That's all for now, I'll post some more later.
