My first reaction the first time I heard this muhfukka whining like a bytch over what I considered to be the beat to Nas' The Message was one of utter disgust... So I can only imagine what Sting who made the original thought lol

But yeah, don't the producer and the songwriter get equal points on songs? To me Sting's cut should come from the producer's haul

This is pretty dumb because this song was out on SoundCloud over a year ago, and didn't really get a push like that until Spring of this year. SO how his label/manager or whoever's around him didn't get this shyt cleared before it hit the streaming services is mindboggling to me.

He released it as a mixtape song before he was signed, got signed of it and when it was taking off they probably tried and failed.

I don’t think these 18 year olds just making music in their room after they come home from their Taco Bell job, are trying to call Sting, Beyoncé or whoever and do some business or that they would answer :patrice:
Of course Juice wouldn't be able to clear it, you'd think that Interscope would hit the :whoa:about selling it before it got cleared.

he didn't lose anything. if it wasn't for that sample he would have no career. the reason the song is dope is because of the melody. period.

he owes his whole career to sting. 85% for a number 1 hit that made you the hottest in the game sounds like a deal to me

mixed feelings about this in spirit and principal, but juice wrld is trash and the production game has reached peak levels of laziness and mediocrity. taking a well known sample, which was already sampled on a well known/classic song, looping it and throwing the same old drums and 808 over it? and if its not that, its replacing well known sample with free loops from looperman or a ready-made melody someone else made and throwing the same drums and 808s on it.. so much mediocrity
