Oh God here she go.... I usually like her but damn. Drug use in the industry is in NO WAY a "hip-hop" thing. Musicians of all genres been getting fukked with drugs since the 50's. Hollywood in the 40's loaded all their actors and actresses with drugs.

Also personal choice and responsibility is a thing.
fukk them cacs and their music. We talm bout brothers and sistsrs using.

I'm out this thread because I admit I may be acting a bit ignorant because I'm not really giving much thoughts to my post and more reacting from the gut. Might saying some ignorant shyt. I'm busy with other shyt ATM so not really giving my posts here the thought it should. :hubie: don't want to look too stupid.

Why she make this specifically about hiphip when musical artists of all genres having ODing for decades? We just lost Prince recently, Jimmie Hendrix, Frankie Lymon White folks lost Janis Joplin, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain, the one rapper that dated Ariana Grande. The list goes on and on and on. It's not a hip hop thing, it's the celebrity artist life style in general. You're young rich and famous, makes likely to live a hedonistic lifestyle. People who, as a broke normal person, probably would've spent all their money on cigarettes and beer, now can afford designer drugs and high priced liquor. Then they get surrounded by yes men and other enablers that encourage excessive use. The only way to prevent it is to keep people who really care about you around when you "make it"

You answered your own question: she’s talking about hip hop cuz it’s new to hip hop.

Aside from weed (which is markedly different) and lean (which was really just limited to Houston hip hop), rappers used to never glorify being drug users. That’s changed and music is being made that’s meant to be consumed while high on these hard drugs. That used to be some EDM shyt, now it’s hip hop shyt; nothing wrong with pointing that out.

No one should be shocked by this

Flying private is one of the best ways to move shyt fast

And all these rappers move packs.

I can make of list of rappers and r&b dudes that I know who moved packs, and nikkas would be shocked

Once you start moving around and meeting people out west, getting access to the fruit is so easy. So even dudes who ain't into it, see the opportunity and jump on it.
How u know who moving drugs? Lol

Yeah, but drugs were used to create the performance/art rather than the rationale of the art. It was a means to an end rather than the end itself.

Compare and contrast with jazz. It was practically mandatory for jazz musicians to be heroin addicts--all of the greats were--but they didn't build their identity around it and/or let it define their music. No jazz musicians went around calling themselves "Black Tar", or "Yung Needle" or "Lil Opie".

Where are their songs about the pills they pop :feedme:

The closest examples I can think of have to do with psychedelics, where a bunch of musicians wrote songs singing the benefits of dropping acid (in the sixties) and popping Ecstasy (in the nineties).

I didn't post the tweet, i simply disagreed with it. and asked why she is making drug overdoses specific to hiphop when they are not. Then proceeded to post proof of drug overdoses in fact not being specific to hiphop by naming other artist who died under similar circumstances

She made it specific to hip hop cuz she talking bout hip hop

In recent years we’ve seen an increase in the number of hip hop artistes that use, openly talk about, write songs about and in some cases die from these drugs

of course the same reasoning universally it doesnt apply. But the tweet that you disagreed with was talking about hip hop

I dont know how much clearer I can make it

FBI Investigating Gang Hit on Rapper Who Taunted Rivals With Music

:ufdup:Indictment coming

Illinois going legal but getting the licenses are extremely hard.

Im not in the mood to write a long as post about how the shyt is corrupt.

When it does go legal just take notes of who is getting the licenses, and how many black dispensary owners you see.

I'm not gonna knock your tastes in music or anything like that, but I just wanted to say that Future has a far better chance of dying from AIDS than some pills. :mjlol:

Y’all always say this about Future

y’all think the man was really going to admit to drugs in an interview. Future isn’t 18
Bro I am convinced people on here are idiots.

One minute everyone says he's a bad influence making everyone do drugs but when he literally says publicly that he doesn't do drugs anymore everyone bytches about him not really doing drugs.

Lil Wayne denies he does drugs all the time as well.

Rick Ross than I did until he came out with his memoir.

Picture clearly has done drugs you can hear it in the old interviews and you can hear it in certain songs
