I really could care less about Juan Castillo but hes being made the scapegoat. This defense has clearly outperformed our offense so far this year. Yall wanna talk about the blown leads but ignore the fact that with all the turnovers and lack of offense the only reason they're still even in these games is cuz of the defense

In the fourth quarter, the offense hasn’t been the problem, dawggie….

Again…the Eagles are 1st in the league defensively for THREE quarters.

They are ranked 30th in the league in the fourth quarter.

And again….yes, if you’re going to fire Castillo, you should also fire Reid, who’s retarded idea it was in the first place to hire the guy.

who cares who is calling the plays on defense?? nothing is changing to stop Andy only giving McCoy the ball 3 or 4 times in a half, or needlessly burning timeouts, or running michael vick draw plays in goaline situations.

Maryland by way of DC
breah u do know that Andy Reid fired him and not the owner.

The Irony of this situation is that Castillo's defense has been better than Reid and Marty's offense so far, considering the offense constantly turns the ball and Castillo has only had one real atrocious game which was the last game.

Juan was the scapegoat.... I hope this is Reid's last year 14 years is enough of this f u c k up

I know that Reid fired him, but best believe that Lurie had his fingerprints on this and knew about it; if not pressured Reid to do it. You know that Andrew is loyal to a fault. Hell, he could have fired Castillo last year(even though the defense showed improvement late last year). He shouldn't have hired Castillo to be the defensive coordinator in the first place. That alone should have gotten Reid fired right there. I know if the offense keeps giving the ball up and the team continues to underperform, Morningweg and Reid are gone(that is unless they make the NFC title game at least)

Lmao @ ppl in here caping for Castillo, how many many game winning drives has Vick had so far this season? Lol, yea. no one should get a pass here, especially Castillo. Blitzes are TRASH. In the giants game, they blitzed and Eli took one step to his right and fukked the whole thing up cause the defense took abt 4-5 seconds to even get in the backfield. foh

The defense blew 2 straight games and almost blew the Giants game too. The 18 games with Castillo as DC, the Eagles are 11-11. In those 11 losses, the Eagles blew a 4th qtr lead in 7 of those games.

Nnamdi after Sunday's loss:

On the blitzing:
"The fourth quarter was a lot of blitzing," Asomugha said. "So, the fourth quarter, they were able to find the matchups they wanted amidst the blitzing. You could say, 'You should blitz more,' but we did that and it didn't help us in the end."

On the coverage:
"We kind of just mixed it up," he said. "I was on him most of the game. I think when we got to the fourth quarter, there was a lot more trying to give him a different look. We talked about, 'Let's give him something else,' so that he doesn't get comfortable with the one guy or however it is. So we just wanted to give him a different look. So there were some times that Dominique, especially in the fourth quarter, would go to him. But it wasn't something in particular."

Here's the interesting part by the Philly beatwriter Rich Hoffman. He called it before anyone.

Asomugha is a veteran player. That is what he said. The words mean something, especially in a town where Juan Castillo is still a controversial figure as the defensive coordinator. To openly question a coach's tactical decisions like that will not go unnoticed by the organizational hierarchy.
