JR isnt involved in anything other than commentary. Therefore he has no connection to talent like he used to..

Also, the other guys talk too much. JR has to be the primary pbp guy in order for him to be at his best. Not just chiming in occasionly.

I think he can still be great

Philly. Fucc a Eagle. I mean dat.
Yeah, JR is a grouchy old man now, I really don't know why AEW signed dude. I remember him being a detriment in NJPW. Dude was talking about CTE during matches and shyt. He should be viewed as the antithesis of what AEW is trying to do but I think outside of their new school style they're nostalgia marks like the rest of us. This ain't the same guy who sold milk-a-mania this the dude who got tight over the JR call meme which was paying homage to him.

I don't know who they could get on commentary, it seems like such an easy thing but damn near all commentary is bad today. I hope they can find someone new and not get Vampiro and Stryker, I hate talent sharing...

A Mauro, Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuiness on Raw Team

Smackdown could stay the same

Mauro, Renee and someone else on NXT

AEW Shiavone, Goldenboy and Excalibur

That's how it should be done

JR sounds like he's trying to convince himself he likes what he sees. It's so weird. You can hear the complete lack of passion and enthusiasm for 90% of the show, so when he's repeatedly telling Excalibur how exciting Jericho/Page is but says it with no energy whatsoever as the match is obviously boring as shyt and then goes silent for minutes at a time...yikes. I do lol how he keeps saying Jericho is in the best shape he's been in in years, though :mjlol: Dude literally has been fatter in each appearance he's made in NJ and AEW for the past 2 years. Compare him from the List of Jericho run to today and it's like he's gained 50 pounds from the bubblay.

He's definitely not as good as he once was but like I said in another thread he's better than anybody on raw and SmackDown, he's also a lot better than Josh Matthews on impact

This is what I’ve been saying. That doesn’t mean he’s great or shouldn’t get better tho. But he’s still a giant amongst ants right now cause most of them suck.

I think the issue, and he’s said this, is the three man team. There are no defined roles. Is he the play by play or is he the the chief of staff moving all the trains along? And there’s no heel commentator so who is he playing off of?

^He's already an old hating ass^

:heh:

I totally agree that JR is better off backstage/interviewing. Get Marvez the fukk out of there.

See if Schiovane can learn and introduce the talent...he was solid in what I did see of MLW. I'm also confident he would let Goldenboy and Excalibur cook, unlike JR talking over them or having to have stuff explained to him live on air.

If Tony couldn't cut it, I'm sure there's a veteran who could grow into a color commentator role.

If that motherfukker says DAISY Hit Squad one more time...

...matter of fact, Callis would KILL in AEW.

He is definitely having a rough time keeping up with the speed of the matches now and it doesn’t sound like he cares for the over the top flippy shyt. But let’s be real, there aren’t any real characters anymore, the one thing he did great was put over your gimmick and no one has a gimmick anymore. He would have more to talk about if he could spend the match putting over your gimmick then screaming for the 2-3 high spots and selling any fake injuries. I just think he doesn’t have anything to say cause these matches don’t really tell a story nowadays they are just a bunch of high spots.

Ross is better served for vignette voice overs and sit down interviews at this stage. He’s a master of pulling that “it” thing out of people when he’s one on one with them.

That’s where AEW can use him best, JR can make a “nobody” a somebody by telling their story one on one.

Things move way too fast in ring now which is why he seems a step off out there at times

That said. Unfiltered JR on his podcast has been hilarious
Agreed, and a great example of this is when he sold Shelton's performance against HBK, in that championship tournament back in 05'. :wow:
