I agree I think they should let Schiavone and Excalibur do the commentary, maybe have JR on there as a third man or for a big match where someone has to yell BAH GAWD.

It’s horrible. Noticed when Cody was making his entrance, instead of letting the moment happen or tell the story, he’s talking about how close they are to the pyro.
Yeah, JR is a grouchy old man now, I really don't know why AEW signed dude. I remember him being a detriment in NJPW. Dude was talking about CTE during matches and shyt. He should be viewed as the antithesis of what AEW is trying to do but I think outside of their new school style they're nostalgia marks like the rest of us. This ain't the same guy who sold milk-a-mania this the dude who got tight over the JR call meme which was paying homage to him.
I don't know who they could get on commentary, it seems like such an easy thing but damn near all commentary is bad today. I hope they can find someone new and not get Vampiro and Stryker, I hate talent sharing...

It's a reason Vince been trying to replace him almost 20 years. Nobody cares where anybody played football or went to college. Outside of the soundbite moments(which he's ironically disgusted with the highspots that lead to said moments nowadays) he's had nothing for a while. It's not the soap opera AE anymore.

I don't think JR is bad especially compared to the WWE main roster commentary... but I do agree he needs to not be on commentary anymore. Ross clearly doesn't care about today's type of fast paced wrestling style and characters, we all noticed it when he was in New Japan.
Ross needs to have a backstage role and do the serious sit down interviews like the ones he did with Hangman Page and Shawn Spears because he thrives the best at getting serious aspects of wrestlers over.
