I made a thread here called "The cowboy soap opera continues"
Well after that thread, I peeped how my initial thoughts were on point.
Jerry Jones called up the Chiefs owners to ask how he delt with the situation so he can do try that on his players. If Jerry really cares about his players, its one thing
But he doesn't give a shyt that Dez Bryant could lose use of his fingers, thus losing his career
He went at Ratliff just the other day saying he needed him cuz his replacement (Brent) is jailbound. The way he said it, sparked a beef that almost came to blows

Its also clear the TEAM hates him. And I think he's the reason the team doesn't really give a shyt when they lose. Its still sort of a win/win in there eyes. Now whats the problem? Jerry. He's a drama king :hula:

You try to hard. That happened damn near two weeks before the incident in Philly

Bigger picture it makes it look like drunk driving is no big deal.

It's crazy how many people drive drunk or impaired every damn day. Go to a local sports bar after work today and look at all the cars in the parking lot. Just about every one of them will soon be occupied by someone who has been drinking and is somewhat impaired.

oh no doubt.

Just seemed like a bit of a slap in the face to at least Cowboys fans who may have been hurt by a drunk driver.

Some a yall make no sense....

The dude drank under the influence, killed someone and it's all gravy cuz dude's parents are cool with it? LOL

It's simply not a good look to embrace someone in that manner who made a really severe mistake that cost someone's life. Who gives a fukk what the family thinks? It's almost as if he's being treated like a victim in all of this.
*looks for the post that suggested that*

*finds none*

and im really tired of people dismissing Jerry Brown's mother and family, knowing that if she was angered and wanted Brent in prison they would be citing her opinion first and foremost.

no it doesnt, what it makes it look like his teammates and friends support him. You can think someone made a terrible mistake, but still support them.

I feel you breh. He probably should have fell back from the game and been somewhere with his family spending some time because he will be going to prison soon.

you're basically saying drunk driving shouldnt have any consequences, which is fine....but I could see why someone wouldnt like him being on the sidelines. Its not just about the Cowboys....they represent a lot more than just the team. The represent a city and a fanbase.

looked odd, kind of trivializes the crime

and as suggested, if that was Dez or Witten that got killed you can bet your ass dude would never be near the complex ever again in his life. he would have been cut, shunned and disgraced.

completely untrue. What I am saying is that he made a mistake that he has to live with forever. He will face time in prison and will probably never play in the NFL again and will never see his best friend again. He is going to be punished by the criminal justice system and do time in prison.

The Cowboys should not turn their backs on dude in a team where he needs help. Thats what friends do. That doesnt mean anyone is ok with what he did, it just means they are there for him.

but I could see why someone wouldnt like him being on the sidelines. Its not just about the Cowboys....they represent a lot more than just the team. The represent a city and a fanbase.
I didnt want dude on the sidelines either, but the mother of Jerry Brown forgave him and wanted the Cowboys to support him. Her feelings>>>>>me and yours in this situation.

Apparently dude ended up leaving in the 3rd quarter when he realized, or was told, it was too much of a distraction. How the Cowboys as an organization couldn't figure that out before he was allowed out there is beyond me. Regardless of how anyone feels about it, last thing the Cowboys need during a crucial game like that is an unnecessary distraction.

Cowboys have always been a circus so not surprised.

The players on IR invited him to come to the game and not the team, apparently.

He is not "just as responsible"

He may not be completely without blame, and he obviously made a poor decision, but to say he's just as responsible as a FRIEND who DROVE DRUNK and KILLED HIM is ridiculous.

Eh.. he made a pretty horrible decision. Alot of fault falls upon him for getting into a car with a drunk driver. :manny:

He is absolutely just as responsible for HIS OWN death. If you knowingly get in the car with a drunk driver as an adult you're decision is not any smarter or safer or more honorable than the person who decided to drive. You might be worse cuz you get the benefit of making it home (or wherever they mightve been headed) without the risk of a DUI and without the burden and responsibility of trying to operate the vehicle. You just reap the rewards of drunk driving with none of the consequences...

Main man was not "innocent" at all in the situation. He was partying and enjoying himself and he paid for it. Its not like he was standing on the sidewalk when he got killed. He was in the car. These guys were friends since college. I doubt this was an uncommon event...

Why do people think its their job to punish people who break the law.. especially in heartbreaking situations like this.. Cause he can go where ever he wants basically until his trial its ok for people to drink and drive?? He got charged with some serious shyt and killed someone who he knew his family and everything.. Im not seeing where he got it good and needs some extra society shaming..

micheal turner and a ton of other players get caught for dui and play the season out but no one cares until someone is hurt/killed.. if that is not trivializing drunk driving then what is???
