I went through the jordan retro and dunks phase in my early 20's..I'm a grown man now pushes 40 years of age, my mindset is different and so is my tax bracket. I'm sorry, you won't catch me in a pair of jordans nor will you in the people I do business with. If you are 35 plus still rocking J's :francis: ....Everytime I see a 40 plus nikka rocking jordans i smh, I know most of yall not gonna rock with this opinion but as a black man, you will know when you have truly matured when you start seeing jordans as childish..

girls that wear jordans :scust:

I remember the days when White people wore Vans, and Black people wore the Nikes and Jordans, but at some point, it flipped. Brand names are just a way for insecure people to feel cool. That's why you saw the 70 pound nerdy cacs and Asians in line.

Somewhere tropic...
We should be wearing loafers, Oxfords, boat shoes, etc. Also, no jeans and t-shirts. Only suits or slacks and button down shirts.

You right
I'm an 80s baby too and when I was growing up part of being a sneakerhead was having unique sneaks and your own sense of style.
I remember I got a pair of sauconys from the other side of town before ppl in my section were wearing them and everybody around my way was like :ohhh:
When people had the yellow ACGs I came with the suede grey ones and had everybody asking me where I got them
Once being a sneakerhead turned into waiting over night and paying 5x the price for a pair it got corny. Obviously part of it is technology and the internet but any random 12 yr old suburban dweeb can become a sneakerhead now by virtue of being able to afford a shoe other ppl can't
