51% midrange from the 75 games sampled in 1992, OP even managed to track a bunch of other stuff as well. Pretty insane stuff and 1992 isn't exactly the season people think of when they think of peak MJ

1ST 3PEAT MJ WAS DEFINITELY PEAK JORDAN.

HE HAD THE ELITE JUMP SHOT

WHILE STILL IN HIS ATHLETIC PRIME.

I have no doubt if we had access to what he was shooting from midrange in 87-88, 88-89, 89-90, 90-91, it will be in the mid 50's or even 56% or 57%

Certain people have the audacity to say MJ wouldn't be able to weaponize a 3 ball when big oafs like DeMarcus Cousins, Brook Lopez, and Nikola Vucevic are bombing threes after literally one offseason of practice :dead::dead::dead:
Which clowns said this? MJ one of the hardest working players ever, wouldn't be able how to figure out how to shoot the 3ball at a solid clip?

Nah.

KD himself is a better shooter than MJ. KD has the mid-range and the 3ball. MJ's mid range is GOAT but wasn't a great 3pt shooter.
Only time he shot well from 3 was when they shortened the line those few years in the 90s:hubie:

If you can hit mid-range shots everytime, why shoot 3s? You analytics idiots makes no sense to me.

Jordan would dominate today's NBA from the mid-range. He wouldn't need to waste his time launching 3s like all the trash players we see today.

His shot and shot selection were masterful.

I don't think it was shot selection as much as he could get a good look whenever he wanted. For example in 1998 as his athleticism kinda fell off he would have some bad shooting games with poor shot selection. But when he was at the top of his game he could get whatever shot he wanted which is why his shot selection looked masterful when it was more about the fact none of his defenders could bother him enough to force him into doing something more difficult.

Was that when the line was moved back out? I know there were some years he shot 40% but the 3-point line was moved in and was more like a long 2 in today's game.

IT WAS THE SHORT 3 THAT YR...

HE SHOT 38% IN 90 WITH THE LONG 3.

HE SHOT 39% IN THE 91, 92 & 93 PLAYOFFS
WITH THE LONG 3.

its only insufferable to Bron fans, everyone else is enjoying the look back at Jordan.

Only Lebron fans are making this seem painful

speaking of which

LOL

It's so transparent and pathetic.

:russ:

I got LBJ ranked 2nd all time, but they(Bron Stans) are insufferable and insecure when it comes to MJ praise. These fools got mad that Trey Young had MJ ranked 2nd all time behind LeBron, because they felt Trey was too young(:scheme:) to be able to adequately rank MJ, so they felt he ranked MJ too high because of years of MJ propaganda brainwashing. The audacity to believe MJ being ranked 2nd is too good for him. :laff:

Curry is the greatest shooter ever.....you can argue MJ is the second greatest. Just off the strength of always taking on the offensive load, being able to maintain stamina throughout the game getting hacked and being able to withstand all that physically and mentally just to still find the ability to score off the fadeaway in the post CONSISTANTLY..in high or low leverage moments. With or without assistance, can catch it in the post or bring the ball down with it. Dont even matter he still cash them shyts.

"He was a pure shooter," Durant said. "I don't think anybody in the league at that point could shoot the ball better."
:wow:

Jordan96ShotChart.jpg

"Of the 59 NBA players who attempted at least 300 midrange shots that season, Jordan ranked third in overall efficiency, hitting 49.5% on over 1,100 tries. Only Chris Mullin and Vinny Del Negro were more accurate. Reggie Miller, commonly regarded as the finest shooter of that era, made 42.4% of his 484 midrange shots that season. Yep, Miller attempted 484 while Jordan made 547."
