All the other stuff aside, big credit to JP. Drafted 28th which was higher than almost everyone thought he should have been, myself included (I said at the time that we should have switched where we took him and Paschel :snoop: )

Statistically the worst player in the league in his rookie season. But he's worked his ass off and maxed out.

Whether you agree with his contract or not, the work ethic this kid has shown should be inspirational to everyone.

Give that man his respek.

We need a JP smiley. Call it :smitty:?

About this

When the playoff waters got deeper he definitely looked very pedestrian.... so this notion that he is a big part of their future amuses me somewhat.

what kinda dumb nikka logic is this?
yeah theres no chance he can improve at the very old age of 23 :comeon:

They not trading dray… That Wiggins discount assure GS will sign dray to an extension next season but it depends on his overall demeanor this year and how he handles the locker room
The numbers say that they will have to trade Draymond or let him walk and that's been made very clear for a while now. Even reporters close to the Warriors are saying that Draymond will have to go because of the luxury tax.

So do they have a point forward to replace him?

The numbers do not say that. Where are y'all getting this from?

The numbers do say what their luxury tax numbers will be going forward. At a certain point, they won't be able to pay everybody and certain choices are going to have to be made. The numbers have been floating around on social media, so it's not like I'm making those numbers up out of thin air.

Other teams have had to make those type of decisions and aren't the exception to that.

They don't, but they might not have a choice but to find cheaper alternatives to replace him if his asking price is too high. Teams are going to have cap space next season and the FA class is bare, so that money will have to be spent on someone.

I believe the number with Draymond opting in is <$500 million. So I'm not not sure why y'all think they can't extend him afterwards. Now if another team is going to offer him north of $30 million a year then yeah they'll let him walk.

You're assuming that the owner is willing to pay that amount when he's made it clear that he is hesitant to do so. Let's also not forget that they could trade him at any point during the season to reduce their luxury tax bill as well as teams have done that on more than one occasion.

Every owner has a maximum luxury tax amount that they're willing to pay and don't believe anything that they say otherwise.
