You get one minute to contest a score.. but they first had to figure out if they should dispute it in the first place.

They missed the dispute by a whole 4 seconds. If the judges hadn't fukked up, they wouldn't have needed to dispute the score in the first place.

I could see if they incorrectly gave her a score they shouldn't have, but that wasn't the case.

And this a basic observation coming from someone who never watches gymnastics and didn't watch any of the events.

She probably won't make the squad. To making an Olympics Gymnastics team there are no age restrictions, but the more prestigious teams (USA, Russia, and etc.) always go for younger gymnasts.

Gabby Douglas been trying to get back into the squad for years since 2016 and can't break through (she's now 28, Jordan will be 27 by 2028 and yes I know Simone is 27 now, but she's a once in a generational talent in that sport).

There is the caveat that the US gymnastics Federation has changed since the Nasser case so there is a possibility they might be lenient on who gets on the team.

Gabby didn’t try to make the 2020 squad, this was her first attempt at a comeback and she ended it. But yes, it’s very unheard of to make 3 teams, which is why Simone is in her own class.
