Obama ran on change and didnt change nothing. Joe Biden just won and his slogan was basically " nothing is going to fundamentally change"

How could we possibly even be mad at dems? They run the same playbook every 4 years and we fall for it :unimpressed:

Dem candidates should be out in the community more with both civic and social engagement.

Normalize yourself as a candidate and create genuine connections with people.

Then you can talk about your policies or why you've come to believe the things you do.

Tarping in during election season hoping for the best ain't it.

You think he beats Daines? :patrice:

Probably better shot than the no-name they were forced to run
he might not because of how bad the environment was in 2014 for dems. but i’d take my chances with a three term incumbent over whoever they got to run in his place

begich lost in alaska as an incumbent that year but it was still very close for a democrat in a deep red state in a red wave year. its a lot easier for republicans to turn these races in red states into referendums when its an open race than when theres a democratic incumbent.

One thing that Democrats didn't have pre-2018/2019 was AOC. Every Democrat in the country is going to be tied to AOC/Ilhan/Tlaib.

That is hugely detrimental to Democrats in rural areas. Whether progressives want to hear that or not or whether that's fair or not. Having a small group of Democrats actually embrace the "socialist" label is not a thing that helps the party as a whole.

Also, racism, right-wing media and right-wing disinformation on social media is the main reason for Dems collapse in rural areas.:yeshrug:

I disagree on your first point.

Dems were getting destroyed in rural areas long before AOC/Ilhan/Rashida came on the scene.

Take out Obama 2012 and it is a fukking disaster.

That is true but the rural collapse got even worse this year. Biden was supposed to be the candidate that could win back a small sliver of rural voters and that didn't happen.

Also, the Dems massive collapse in Miami-Dade this year can be partly attributed to the rise of "The Squad". Sorry to say it :hubie:

Biden actually did better in rural America than Clinton though that's not saying a lot.

And yeah the Miami collapse is bad. But that also speaks to incompetence. The Florida Democratic Party is an absolute disaster. They keep losing winnable statewide races and only now their Chairman is stepping down after all these state reps been begging and crying for changes for years now.

All summer the Dems had zero counterattacks. All these Latino strategists were warning and no one listened.

midterm elections are probably more favorable for him because he doesnt have to run against a GOP presidential candidate

but he won his seat in 2012 by 18,000 when romney won montana by 67,000. if he keeps schumer far away from his campaign he could win again :manny:

Dems have to focus on getting more suburban and metro voters to the polls. Rural voters look like they're going to split between Trump and GOP. They equally hate Democrats

Most of it is right-wing brainwashing. Bullock got owned even though he had higher favorables and name recognition than Daines.
Look at how crazy some of these states get at mask mandates.

No amount of counterattacks will make people who think Joe Biden is a socialist due to facebook and whatsapp into rational voters.
Kamala got bad press for going to a venezuelan restaurant because the south Americans said she was socialist.
