this is actually quite common though. average joe hits mid life crisis ....leaves wife of many years...thinking the grass is gonna be younger hotter and greener....only to end up worse for wear when "younger and greener" gets bored and moves on. most times they'll try to weasel their way back into the wife's good graces when they hit rock bottom are alone... broke and wanna come back.
this happen to someone i know recently. the husband left her after 13 years with 3 kids "because he wanted to be free again and date other people". moved in with some chick shortly after.
