Back during the show, I didn't know why he was with her beforehand, but hey, he picked her. His wife's personality and demeanor have actually improved over the years, after they broke up. He seemed to want to keep his kids off tv out of bitterness more so than real concern over how it might be impacting them (which is more than a legit question) but that choice ...and divorcing her, may have been a bit hasty.

That's why I believe emotions are USELESS...
If you make decisions based on how much money you stand to gain vs. lose, you will most probably make the right decisions most of the time...
My life became very simple, when I just started basing every decision on money to be lost vs. money to be gained, and how much effort is required in both situation...
If money is not part of the equation, then it's a trivial matter anyway..A mere distraction that should be ignored...

this is actually quite common though. average joe hits mid life crisis ....leaves wife of many years...thinking the grass is gonna be younger hotter and greener....only to end up worse for wear when "younger and greener" gets bored and moves on. most times they'll try to weasel their way back into the wife's good graces when they hit rock bottom are alone... broke and wanna come back.
this happen to someone i know recently. the husband left her after 13 years with 3 kids "because he wanted to be free again and date other people". moved in with some chick shortly after. Fast Fwd 2 years later her husband is now dead broke and living out of his car and wants to come back and live in her house.
